To ask the collective power of MN to help me find a location for a hen do in ONE MONTH?!

monicass · 25/05/2021 12:16

We have a booking for a hen party next month. Somehow, I have no idea how, we all missed the part of the property description that said "No Parties".

We desperately need to find house/cottage accommodation for ten sensible hens for 25-27 June and despite hours trawling the internet we have found NOTHING available.

  • needs to sleep 10
  • needs to accept hen parties!
  • needs to be in England
  • budget up to £2500
  • not a hotel

Can anyone help?! Do you by some magical chance have a property that's had a last minute cancellation?!

@ivegotthisyeah thank you - unfortunately like everywhere else they have no availability for the dates we need. Sad

SomewhereInbetween1 · 25/05/2021 13:11

Bristol!!

RizzleRazzle · 25/05/2021 13:18

I think OP is looking for a specific property not just a city to go to

littlemissminor · 25/05/2021 13:21

I know you said no hotel - but The Fish hotel has a farmhouse that sleeps 13. They have a private dining room etc too. It's in the Cotswolds..

PaniniHead · 25/05/2021 13:25

Whereabouts do you want it to be? I know you said England, but if you all live bordering Scotland then you may not want to travel to Cornwall for 2/3 nights

LaurieFairyCake · 25/05/2021 13:27

You've got a booking though - can you just all pretend you're related ConfusedGrin

PaniniHead · 25/05/2021 13:28

Have you messaged the property owner? I wouldn’t take ‘no parties’ to mean no hen parties- more they don’t want crowds of people being invited over

PercyPug · 25/05/2021 13:36

I thought you could have 2 households indoors, or 6 people from different households. Have I missed something?

ineedaholidaynow · 25/05/2021 13:40

In theory from 21st June we will be free @PercyPug, if you I've in England, but things may change

NautaOcts · 25/05/2021 13:42

When is a party a party? 🤔
Are you not just a group of friends going away together? They will not want loud music and drunkenness and debauchery/damage but if you know you’re just going for a quiet weekend...

lastqueenofscotland · 25/05/2021 14:07

Just had a look on air bnb and there is a lot in Manchester available nearish town albeit not the nicest areas

underneaththeash · 25/05/2021 14:12

How about here:
www.watermarkcotswolds.com/lodges/the-landings-40/ It's free on your dates, within budget and sleeps 8-10.

Exactly. If you were just a group of friends meeting up for a catch up post lockdown, what difference would it make? You say you are sensible and depending on the group the 'friends having a catch up' could get far more wild than a hen do of sensible people.

The last hen I went on was MILs. Everyone in the party was related to MIL (her DDs, DILs, nieces, granddaughters, sisters and sisters in law) so was it a party, a hen do or a family gathering?

Nothing got trashed and we left the place cleaner than how we found it.

Sparklesocks · 25/05/2021 14:19

We booked an Airbnb once that had a no hen party policy and was realised too late. But there were only 6 of us staying anyway (the other guests lived locally) so we just said we were friends doing a weekend away (which was true!) and made sure there was no visible hen paraphernalia when we met the host to get the keys. We did everything as planned and just cleaned it before we checked out. It was fine! I say chance it Wink if it sleeps 10 then they’re not going to be suspicious if 10 of you are staying. And they shouldn’t be dropping round mid visit anyway?

AdHominemNonSequitur · 25/05/2021 15:06

Just leave the penis deely- bops at home and behave yourselves.

We are in Northamptonshire so pretty central. Ideally not Cornwall or Devon as that's a 5 hour trip for us but at this moment we will take anything!

We could but the owner lives next door and I don't want him getting cross and refusing us entry on the day as that would be awful...

We've messaged the website we booked through and they have said "the owner says there are no parties or hen dos allowed so it's a flat no".

This is BEAUTIFUL, thank you. I actually tried to book this when I saw your link but sadly they will not take more than 8 adults. The "up to 10" only applies to 8 adults and 2 children.

Here’s one available for your dates.
AirBnb has tons of options. TONS.
