To not have a coffee table?

Is that odd? Is it a staple of a living room?

My living room isn’t that big in my new home and so I sold my old table. If I bought a new one then it would have to be small and seems a little bit pointless.

I just have a side table thing. Was actually a fish tank stand but it's the perfect height!

I like having one. I can understand others not having one, but i find it hard to imagine it can be “bliss!” Grin

I’ve never had one, my mum always had them and they just got in the way, tripped over, bashed into, used as a dumping ground etc.
We have a couple of side tables and it’s perfect for us. We’ve had kids since we owned our own places so never saw the appeal anyway.

I gave mine to my sister when DD arrived. My parents were horrified and told me I would miss it.... nope!

We have a lounge/diner so we needed as much space as we could. The corner sofa doesnt have space for a small table or a nest of tables next to it, so i just bought a small collapsible table, the top of it is like a tray that sits on top of the frame. Its stored down the side of the sofa when not in use. Then when DD is in bed, i get it out - takes two seconds to unfold and two seconds to fold away again.

I dont use it every night - I could easily cope without it, but its a good alternative for when i cant be bothered with going out to the kitchen every time i want a sip of my drink Smile

We have a big one in a small space and basically use it instead of a dining table (which is currently covered in all my work stuff

@Tanfastic

No, we have side tables but no coffee table, just a big rug and a footstool.
We have the same set up, it looks lovely (in my opinion!)

No coffee table = No bruised shins

YANBU

We got rid of ours when we moved into our new place earlier this year.

This was mainly due to lack of space but I love not having one now & it means one less space to use as a dumping ground!
