They look like something from that progtam that used to shame people for unhealthy diets and when theyve been dipped into are going to look a bloody mess. Why?.

Eurgh. This is reminding me of when someone on Come Dine With Me served sushi on a man's chest. A hairy man's chest.

Redsquirrel5 · 23/05/2021 21:46

I wouldn’t be eating from there. People maybe not washed hands🤮also great for people with allergies, vegans, vegetarians I think not!

I imagine after the first few by the time you are there it could be a real mess.

BrilliantBetty · 23/05/2021 21:46

Oh yuck. I think it's American. Seen pictures of American friends doing this and always think how unappealing it looks. Especially the dessert bit. No section between sweet and savoury. All just sitting on a table cloth, or a slab.

FloralJammies · 23/05/2021 21:47

That would be a no from me. Absolutely disgusting.

Blondiney · 23/05/2021 21:47

It's a trough.

SoapboxFox · 23/05/2021 21:49

I dislike the name. Sheep graze. Or a graze is a minor scrape.

ThatIsMyPotato · 23/05/2021 21:49

Does it get tidied up as it gets eaten? Do you have to eat from the edge and work your way into the middle? I am intrigued to see what one looks like half way through.

GreyhoundG1rl · 23/05/2021 21:49

@Blondiney

It's a trough.
😂. It absolutely is.
TillyTopper · 23/05/2021 21:52

We had a graze table recently - came as a present. Tbh it was wonderful! It was colourful, amazing flavours, we (one household) all really enjoyed it and it made a fantastic birthday present.

Thewiseoneincognito · 23/05/2021 21:52

Hideous. So rough.

disconnected101 · 23/05/2021 21:52

Think of all those fingers

Tambora · 23/05/2021 21:53

That would be a nightmare for anyone who needs to avoid certain foods.

Oenanthe · 23/05/2021 21:53

When I was at school, back in the seventies, we used to have to scrape our plates into a dustbin which went to the local pig farm, for swill.

I've just had a massive flashback.

Catforaheadrest · 23/05/2021 21:56

Deconstructed buffet! Love the idea, but yeh, that picture looks grim.

Although I do personally serve a deconstructed buffet sometimes Blush it’s one of my family’s favourite lunches! Usually when I’m feeling lazy and I need to get rid of things from the fridge, I pile anything and everything on a massive wooden platter and stick it in the middle of the table. It’s called “picky lunch”. Wouldn’t serve it up to guests though!

queenofthenorthwest · 23/05/2021 21:57

@TheBullfinch

Revolting. Besides the fact that its so beige, just imagine all the fingering and spillage.
Haha. That made me laugh
SchadenfreudePersonified · 23/05/2021 21:58

That looks DISGUSTING!

Lindy2 · 23/05/2021 21:58

There's a lot of beige on that table. It doesn't look very appealing.

I have seen some much nicer, smaller size grazing platters which do look nice. They've generally been full of colourful fruit and vegetables with lovely cheeses and cold meats. If done properly they can look good but a huge table of stuff piled up together just looks rather grim.

mayblossominapril · 23/05/2021 21:58

DS (3.5 years) and I like to have a graze tray sometimes for lunch or dinner and it’s great for encouraging him to try new things.
It looks messy half way through and we give the left overs to DH!
I wouldn’t want to share with anyone who wasn’t close family and they are so easy to put together so not worth paying for.

CanIBeACurlyGirl · 23/05/2021 21:59

We won a graze box during lockdown, it was nice for me and DH and DD.

I wouldn't want to dip in to a tables worth but the box was something different.

Graze tables - really???
JBaez · 23/05/2021 22:02

Your examples look dreadful OP.

I don’t mind these...

How did you eat it? Did you have to rummage around for the bits you wanted? Or just take the bits from the edge and work your way in?

Fuck knows. I hate them. I cringe for people when they post them on Facebook.
LolaSmiles · 23/05/2021 22:03

This would give the people on We Want Plates a field day.
What's wrong with plates and normal serving platters/boards?

ThatIsMyPotato · 23/05/2021 22:03

JBaez the second one of those looks more like a buffet with biscuits as decoration so yeah looks nicer I think. There are plates involved and it's not all a jumble.

category12 · 23/05/2021 22:03

Sorry, but the box looks gross to me as well.

It just seems so wasteful as well. Like here's a mountain of food we're going to throw together and you can root through it like pigs, and then we'll scrape a ton of it into the bin. Disgusting.
