Graze tables - really???

They look like something from that progtam that used to shame people for unhealthy diets and when theyve been dipped into are going to look a bloody mess. Why?.

Every example I've seen looks revolting.

They look nauseating. I feel the same about the boxes too.

Revolting. Besides the fact that its so beige, just imagine all the fingering and spillage.

Very appetising for a buffet with people presumably.. poking around in it? Or do you get a scoop like at a pic MN mix.

I also like the idea of not having stuff obvious and separate so you can take what you want, I'd far rather just delve into a mixed up pile of whatever which is what it will be after a few people have had a go!

This has been around since 2016. They just called them “charcuterie” (even though they weren’t just traditional charcuterie bits) tables, and were starting to call them grazing tables, then. I guess they switched to just calling them grazing tables. But yes, if you Google charcuterie tables, you can find results going back years.

Buffets are the stuff of the devil evil pre-Covid and that just wants to make me rip my skin off!

If I knew one of those awaited I'd be taking my own sandwiches in a tupperware I think.

Is this graze the company or a new fashion?

Searching graze table Google suggested I finish my search with ' ideas'.

It's a very firm no from me.

Horrible, my FB feed has been full of people selling these graze boxes over the last few months, and pictures of ones people have made for their friends. I'm no hygiene freak but even the beautifully presented ones look grim, impossible to avoid touching other people's food, crackers that must be going soggy because they are nestling against pickles or olives. The individual items look lovely, cheeses, salamis etc but I want them served separately please.

They look very stylish if done well. Not great during a pandemic though

I would worry how long it had all been out too, dried up stuff and soggy stuff.

There must be demand for them, there are local start-ups who flog these on FB BUT they also do beautiful afternoon teas as a sideline!

In theory they're just an expansion of those meat and cheese platters, but in practice I find them very off-putting.

I never touch buffets anyway but this is even worse.

But it's all contaminated with bits of other food now. How do you store the left overs? Do people just dig around for what they want? Sorry it looks gross.

This is one I made. I was quite pleased. (Family thing. Not lots of random dippers).

I'm not usually one to be bothered about food touching other food but this is just ridiculous and nauseating.

They look rank, the price some people are charging for shovelling some into boxes and selling on Facebook is ludicrous too.
