Stupid Facebook posts.
I find myself constantly blocking these people and I've never met them. I don't know why it irritates me so much but it really does.

Aibu?
🤣

I will wait

I don't even understand what that means. 'I will wait' is it sarcasm or an order to respond?

Delete everyone on Facebook you have never met. What is the point of these 'friends' ?

I don't get people who moan about randomers who they never met posting shit on facebook. You don't need to have them on facebook👀

MrsXx4 · 22/05/2021 10:11

Why have people you don’t even know on Facebook?! That’s the real question here!

Sixsillysausagessizzlinginapan · 22/05/2021 10:26

They're not my 'friends'
It's shit that gets shared
I'm not stupid enough to add strangers 🤣

If your mates are sharing it so you see it on your timeline just mute the sharers

Sixsillysausagessizzlinginapan · 22/05/2021 10:29

I'd have nobody left 😂 main culprits are DH family though

Does it irritate anyone else though?

SchrodingersImmigrant · 22/05/2021 10:30

Lol. Mute them. I am properly brutal on my SM with muting and getting rid😂

OwlBeThere · 22/05/2021 10:33

Some of my best friends are people I’ve never met. They’ve helped me through all kinds of things. I wouldn’t have survived the last couple of years without their support.

But yes @Sixsillysausagessizzlinginapan I find those passive aggressive posts highly annoying!

SchrodingersImmigrant · 22/05/2021 10:35

The worst are the "i bet no one will share this"
Fuck off. Mute.

My feed is now super boring with no facebook talwattery😂

Laiste · 22/05/2021 10:36

I just don't get it Blush

(this is why i'm not on FB)

msbevvy · 22/05/2021 10:38

What does it mean?

ncgy · 22/05/2021 10:40

I don't get it either, what does it mean?

ncgy · 22/05/2021 10:42

Is it "do you still have long term friends". I will wait because no one has?

SchrodingersImmigrant · 22/05/2021 10:42

Nothing. It's literally just to fill the void. You can make anything into thing people will share on fb. Gimme few min

ncgy · 22/05/2021 10:42

Is it meant to be a very weak dig?

Zzelda · 22/05/2021 10:45

I hate the ones that passive-aggressively imply that you are a Bad Person if you don't share them. I had one recently from someone I genuinely like, and after thinking about it for a bit I posted something saying, fairly apologetically, that whilst I didn't disagree with the post as a matter of principle I never share things phrased in that way. She had the grace to reply apologising and saying that she hadn't really thought properly about it herself when she shared it.

Sixsillysausagessizzlinginapan · 22/05/2021 10:45

I think it's comment/like baiting. Must make them feel important. Unless the reasoning is more sinister and they're looking for answers to people's security questions. There's varying versions of this sort of post.

Underneath people are tagging childhood friends etc

whosappleman · 22/05/2021 10:47

You know what pisses me off. Those posts where it's half a sentence and you're supposed to let your phone complete it. Occasionally, very occasionally, they can be amusing but usually they make no sense and are in no way funny at all.

mangoontoast · 22/05/2021 10:49

I had a rant to myself about this very post this morning! "I will wait" my arse. I usually see it used on fb arguments where someone is asking for proof they know the other doesn't have. In my case, it's my stepmum commenting so it pops up. I don't want to mute her as I don't want to upset her.

SchrodingersImmigrant · 22/05/2021 10:50

Share this somewhere in some group with
"So true😍"

And wait

I will wait
diddl · 22/05/2021 11:01

Well they'd be waiting for a long time (ie forever!) for me to answer.

I just don't reply to these things even if from a friend.

I don't copy/share/put as my stsus for a while to show I care/have read it or any of that.

lidoshuffle · 22/05/2021 11:30

Does someone along the line make money from these sharing posts? Otherwise I really can't see the point of anyone starting them.

whosappleman · 22/05/2021 11:34

@lidoshuffle it's an engagement thing. If they get people to like or comment then Facebook will think those people are proper friends and they'll show posts on their feeds more regularly
