I'm due to meet my friend at 9:30 but my washing doesn't finish for another 11 mins!

Leave the washing and get off mumsnet!

Comefromaway · 18/05/2021 09:18

Is this an issue? Do you need your washing to finish so you can wear something to go out in (in which case wouldn't it be your drying?)

toomuchfaster · 18/05/2021 09:20

You know your friend and what you are meeting for. If she has already left home or you're booked to do an activity, leave the washing. If she is a bit more relaxed or lives closer and it's just a walk or casual coffee, give her a ring and push it back till 10am.

Tooshytoshine · 18/05/2021 09:20

If I was your friend and on time, I would be annoyed if you had waited for your washing. My time is not less important than your washing.

mainsfed · 18/05/2021 09:23

Depends on what you're meant to be doing with friend. If we were meeting for a walk I would ask if we could delay by 15 mins or whatever and it would be fine.

If we were supposed to be somewhere like a meal then I would leave the washing.

smudgemylife · 18/05/2021 09:29

You've only just realised you need to delay? Surely when you put the wash on you would have known it would take however long? I wouldn't be annoyed if you text me then to push it back, but texting 15min before you're due to meet isn't nice when you'd known for some time.

Aprilx · 18/05/2021 09:29

This isn’t something I would even think about. I happily leave the house whilst the washing machine is on.

FoxtrotSkarloey · 18/05/2021 09:29

just leave it!

Mrgrinch · 18/05/2021 09:31

If you kept me waiting nearly half an hour I'd be pissed off and the meeting up would be ruined. Leave the bloody washing.

Geamhradh · 18/05/2021 09:32

You could perhaps not waste more time asking MN next time.

WeAllHaveWings · 18/05/2021 09:32

leave the washing

VainAbigail · 18/05/2021 09:32

Washing is more important than your friend, yes?

SomewhereInbetween1 · 18/05/2021 09:33

Text your friend?

sillysmiles · 18/05/2021 09:36

Why is this even a question? Go meet your friend.

Lalliella · 18/05/2021 09:37

How far away are you meeting her? Can she come to you? Would she have left yet? So many questions!

GreyEyedWitch · 18/05/2021 09:39

Leave the washing!

Bumzoo · 18/05/2021 09:41

Is it her washing? I'm not sure why it's an issue if not.

ComingToGetUBarbara · 18/05/2021 09:41

Reverse?

FinallyFluid · 18/05/2021 09:43

Is it half term already ?

Comefromaway · 18/05/2021 10:02

@FinallyFluid

Is it half term already ?
No, but lots of Year 11 finished last Friday.
OldEvilOwl · 18/05/2021 10:04

Leave it

ilovesooty · 18/05/2021 10:07

Is this serious? You don't mess people around like this.

TinyTear · 18/05/2021 10:47

my husband doesn't like to leave the washing machine running even if just for ten minutes at the end of the cycle so i can see him doing this

MaliceOrgan · 18/05/2021 10:58

Huh?

CatPurple · 18/05/2021 12:17

I get a bit anxious about this sometimes too but I pause/stop the machine rather than expect someone else to give up their time for my poor organisation.
