AIBU?
This is shocking...

Just came across this on Twitter. I’m truly shocked at the (male) violence against women, being dressed up as some sort of inclusiveness crusade. I mean...what the actual fuck??
Am I being unreasonable?

I dont remember seeing the 'trans issues' forum. Not sure Mumsnet would be allowed a specific one to be honest. Anyway, this is primarily a female site, so such a huge issue is best placed in as much traffic as possible.

Looking at those posts, I’m really unclear how you are supposed to talk about women’s issues. Women isn’t inclusive of trans men. People with uteruses is cissexist. How is the world are you supposed to describe the class of people who have periods, get pregnant and have abortions if you can neither use the word woman or use identifiers of women?

I think we're just expected to get back in our boxes and talk about handbags and shoes or something?

And OP, are you really only just seeing this? Twitter is a cesspit, but society in general doesn't care about women's voices.
Men in 'girl mode' - amazing, brave, should have a voice in every platform.
Actual women - a nuisance who needs to be shut up, unless agreeing with the men, or the men who no longer identify as men. Remember, there's nothing brave about being born a woman in this world. That's our privilege.

No...I’ve been seeing it for years. But I’ve only just come across this website and was truly rattled by the violent threats that come from this camp
Rosiesmydog · 14/05/2021 12:53
I cannot understand how these people can get away with this sort of horrific, aggressive and dangerous platform! And what does society do? It enables them, it apologises to them, it panders to them...all in the name of inclusiveness.. imho this sort of horror is more dark net material surely?

One of those says “If your feminist activism doesn’t centre trans women right now, no matter the other intersections, you’re failing”
Sooo, a feminist fighting for, I don’t know, safe and legal abortion is failing. Regardless of her actual views on trans women, she is automatically “failing” because her specific feminist activism doesn’t centre trans women. Despite the fact trans women will never require an abortion and therefore have no need to be “centred”.
Are there times that individuals/activism should prioritise trans people/rights, of course. Is it an automatic across the board blanket failure if they don’t all the time - of course it fucking isn’t and that’s a ridiculous position to hold.
And I would hazard a guess that it is not the view of most trans women.
