I’m finding myself eating two high in sugar snacks a day. Today I’ve had a chocolate biscuit and an ice lolly. I’m not overweight but obviously I under health isn’t just about weight

Never. Sugar is a sin and addictive and I never have it, not even on fruit. I did make an exception last year on my birthday and I ate a single square of good quality chocolate. However I felt wired and out of sorts for days. I’m pregnant and I hope my baby never finds out what sugar is, I’d rather he was addicted to crack than that evil stuff.

(I’m joking, obviously, but I’m already predicting how this thread will go and the competitive under-sugar-eaters will be out 🙃)

nanbread · 09/05/2021 00:26

Probably too much on average. None today, but I have drunk quite a lot of booze which is full of sugar.

I'd say I have cake, chocolate, biscuits or ice cream in some form maybe 4 or 5 days out of 7, but not in large amounts.

I don't think 1 biscuit and an ice lolly is excessive at all.

Houseofvelour · 09/05/2021 00:46

I am completely addicted to sugar and am definitely putting on weight.
Daily chocolate/cake/treat of some sort.

😂😂😂

OMG, what's your BMI? Try heroin, it's much better for you.

SofiaMichelle · 09/05/2021 00:51

I have an occasional chocolate biscuit - maybe 3 per week - but only dark chocolate as I don't like very sweet things.

I never eat fruit for the same reason.

NewJobNervous · 09/05/2021 01:00
Biscuit
Pinkyavocado · 09/05/2021 01:18

Oh god I feel bad reading this. I’d be really happy if I got through a day with one biscuit and one lolly!

I’m not overweight and don’t loads, rarely eat sugary stuff during the day but in the evening I could easily eat half a packet of chocolate biscuits which is why I don’t buy them. I usually, we’ll always have a Kit Kat or two in the evening.

Glitteryone · 09/05/2021 01:30

At least once a day, although I don’t have them as snacks, I have them with a meal / so basically a dessert.

Sciurus83 · 09/05/2021 08:44

At the moment at least one thing a day, but I'm early pregnancy and that's pretty unusual for me. Normally, maybe one every few days, sometimes more sometimes can go weeks.

MrsDThomas · 09/05/2021 08:54

Not much. If i do its a rice cake with chocolate on or something like a Kit Kat.

Im not really a snacker.

AFS1 · 09/05/2021 08:57

Way too much!
It’s the first thing I try and cut out when I’m wanting to lose weight, but my addiction is all-absorbing. I’m obese and therefore very likely to be high risk for diabetes. But I find it almost impossible to resist cakes/biscuits/chocolate/sweets...

fishonabicycle · 09/05/2021 08:59

When I feel like it!

imsoinmyhead · 09/05/2021 09:02

I try hard not to have much, but I always have an alcoholic drink every day at the very least.

On bad days I have full fat Pepsi, chocolate, cake, biscuits. Whatever I want really

😂😂😂 You made a mistake on your birthday. Picture of chocolate should have sufficed! Poor addicted soul, aren't you
LittleRa · 09/05/2021 09:05

I’m breastfeeding a 9 week old and pretty much munch on chocolate and sweets all day (and night) Grin More worried about my teeth than anything else! Obviously will cut back down eventually- two or three smallish things maybe.

SchrodingersImmigrant · 09/05/2021 09:07

Tbh though (after taking a piss above🤦) I don't have a sweet tooth at all so I can go days without sweet snacks like that.
I do have fruit a lot for snacks. So yogurt with fruit and cheese with fruit.
I must have cheese daily😁 That's my sugar😁

coogee · 09/05/2021 09:11

I don't have a sweet tooth, so not often.

Etulosba · 09/05/2021 09:16

What kind of booze do you drink? There is zero to sod all sugar in booze unless you add sugary mixers.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 09/05/2021 09:19

Way too much - I have just finished off my breakfast with tea and a Hobnob.

I need to cut back (I have been saying that for years).

AnUnoriginalUsername · 09/05/2021 09:19

😂😂 I'd think I was doing well if I was even classing an icelolly as a sugary snack.

I'm not usually overweight but exercise alot. I eat alot of sugar though, always have, I do hope to set better eating habits for my child.

DrJPuddleDuck · 09/05/2021 09:23

Far too much. I eat when I am bored, stressed or upset - and even when I’m happy! I definitely use sugar and fatty foods as an emotional crutch - just like my family. I’m not overweight - yet - but I know it’s a slippery slide, especially the older I get.

LeonardLikesThisPost · 09/05/2021 09:25

Hardly any BUT I do have sugar in my coffee, that's about twice a day. The only reason I don't eat many sugary snacks is because I don't eat gluten, which rules out most nice biscuits and cakes, and now my body seems to be objecting to dairy too, so I'm mostly avoiding that as well, which rules out more nice things.

I hate fruit so never eat that.

I love crisps 🙂

ZoeMaye · 09/05/2021 09:26

On a good day 1-2 small sweet treats, but I have had lots of bad days recently where I will eat more than that!

Stormwhale · 09/05/2021 09:31

I have a basket of low calorie sweet snacks. I allow myself one a day as I'm trying to lose weight. Things like the fibre one bars, all under 100cal. They scratch the sweet itch without blowing my diet.

SamanthaVimes · 09/05/2021 09:40

Yesterday I had a Portuguese tart, a share bag of giant buttons, a ring donut and 2 pots of joy

I justify it by saying I’m still breastfeeding but if I’m honest it’s not that different to what I would eat before I was pregnant. I’m not gaining weight or overweight though so cba to change anything!

(I also ate 3 meals including plenty of veg not just the snacks!)
