I’m finding myself eating two high in sugar snacks a day. Today I’ve had a chocolate biscuit and an ice lolly. I’m not overweight but obviously I under health isn’t just about weight

Err.. loads. I used think I didn’t have a sweet tooth, but then I gave up wine/alcohol. Now I love sweet food...
Yesterday I had 3 ginger nuts, a leftover chocolate Easter bunny, some sweet popcorn and a small bowl of cookie dough ice cream. This is a bit more than usual because it was Saturday, but I do usually have a sweet something or two each evening. I’m 5ft 6 and weigh 8st8 (so I’m not overweight.. yet!)

It wasn’t just one chocolate biscuit it was a chocolate biscuit bad. I also usually eat more this was a good day.

Definitely need to give up sugar again. I gave it up during last lockdown and lost 1.5 stone. Since just before Christmas I started eating it again and have regained 1 stone.

Yesterday I had 2 slices of fruit cake, a Cornetto, half a bar of dark chocolate, a chocolate soya pudding and 2 custard creams.

It's so easy to see that it's snacking that puts the weight on. If I'd had bigger, healthier meals yesterday I wouldn't have eaten any of that.

End of school day ritual/habit is a coffee and a penguin or something to get me through the marking or whatever before going home. I'll usually have something sweet in the evening after DD has gone to bed.
I've been the same healthy weight for the last 15 years (apart from when pregnant) and just the one filling so I reckon I'll keep doing what I'm doing.
I have sugar in tea and coffee as well 😱

I have an awful sweet tooth Blush
I literally start the day with tea and biscuits!
My meals are very healthy, I eat tons of fruit & veg and don't drink alcohol but my day is peppered with freddo's, biscuits and other such treats.
I try not to worry about it but I do know it's not great!

I don't really snack much, but I cook Thai food a lot and put quite a bit of sugar in that. Also sometimes have chocolate in the morning if I can't be arsed to make proper breakfast Blush

What you're describing sounds pretty normal, especially if you're not overweight, as long as you're also eating veg etc and not living entirely on biscuits! And particularly if you're not drinking sugary drinks. I think people get too hung up on 'bad' foods especially on MN - sugar and carbs won't kill you, as long as you eat a sensible proportion of other foods too.
