Inspired by another thread, any one of the Heathers would have eaten Regina for breakfast. Truly terrifying teenage angst!
Aibu, or did I just have a brain tumour for breakfast?

Don't know about Mean Girls but Heathers was great, one of my favourites as a teen adored Christian Slater Grin

HannaHat · 05/05/2021 22:27

Well fuck me gently with a chainsaw 😑

Boofay · 05/05/2021 22:27

You're so very, OP!

LegoPoliceman · 05/05/2021 22:29

Heathers is much better, in my opinion.
I had no idea how much some people rated Mean Girls until I saw the other thread. I saw it with a big group of friends and I think the near unanimous decision was basically "...eh...".

3scape · 05/05/2021 22:29

Is that you eldest daughter Grin?

Poorpigletsrevenge · 05/05/2021 22:32

Heathers all the way!

JackieTheFart · 05/05/2021 22:33

Fucking love Heathers.

It’s on Prime for free at the moment, watched it with DH recently and he was underwhelmed. Not sure if we should stay married tbh.

I just googled for inspirational Heathers slang and found this quote:

Written by Daniel Waters (brother to the director of Mean Girls, Mark Waters)

Well, whaddaya know!

JackieTheFart · 05/05/2021 22:33

(I suspect everyone knows that already but I missed the other thread!) Grin

bunglebee · 05/05/2021 22:34

If you wanna fuck with the eagles...

It's ten times the film Mean Girls is.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 05/05/2021 22:35

You deserve to NOT be paid in puke OP! (aka YANBU). I'm ashamed to say JD and Veronica are the reason I own a croquet set... Mean Girls can't compare imo.

Margotshypotheticaldog · 05/05/2021 22:38

Do I look like mother Teresa?
Mean Girls was funny, but Heathers was daaaark. I was a young ish teen when I saw it, and it made me irrationally (rationally?) terrified of Americans! Except obviously, Christian Slater.
Even post Columbine, it's uncomfortably close to the bone.

Mean Girls isn't even in the same league as Heathers. Might have to rewatch it this weekend 😁

bunglebee · 05/05/2021 22:40

I just got back.

Margotshypotheticaldog · 05/05/2021 22:40

I had absolutely no idea it was directed by MGs director's brother!
Well that explains it. The Heathers were Regina's way more evil big sisters.

CatChant · 05/05/2021 22:48

"They seem to have an open-door policy for assholes though, don't they?"

BANG!

Loved Heathers for years. Introduced DD to it when she was old enough and she loves it too.

Margotshypotheticaldog · 05/05/2021 22:51

And just to add,
You don't deserve my speech!

forfucksakenett · 05/05/2021 22:57

Omg I need to watch this again. I wonder how it has aged! I thought Tina Fey wrote mean girls? Love them both but Heathers should probably just nudge it.

Cam2020 · 05/05/2021 22:58

Mean Girls is funny but Heathers is definitely the better film. I still remember watching it for the first time when I was in senior school.

Postern · 05/05/2021 23:07

Daniel Waters apparently wanted Stanley Kubrick to direct, and the original ending — which the studio made him change — had Christian Slater’s character actually succeed in blowing up the school, and all the dead students meet at a post-mortem prom in the afterlife.

Whaaaaaaaaaaat?!

This sounds like Heathers meets Beetlejuice!
