Ugg boots

I've recently inherited a pair of Ugg boots from my daughter. They were no longer wanted and she dismissed them as chavvy! OMG how comfy are they especially for WFH. My tootsies feel all snuggled and warm. AIBU to consider getting a black pair?

If you like them, buy them. Although why do you need to wear them to WFH?

Chihuahuacat · 04/05/2021 21:18

I’ve resurrected my old pair for WFH. They keep my feet a lot warmer than normal slippers on my wooden floor.

If you like them go for it!

StoneofDestiny · 04/05/2021 21:18

It's summer.

roastpotatoesss · 04/05/2021 21:19

YABU for using the term chavvy.

But Uggs are very comfy, I have some of their slippers and have lived in them throughout WFH.

MrsHoneyman · 04/05/2021 21:28

Her loss! Love my UGGS still, but they are structured with a zip and proper sole.

Shieldingending · 04/05/2021 21:29

I love mine, they are so warm and cosy!

ginoclocksomewhere · 04/05/2021 21:31

I bloody love mine! I've had them nearly 12 years, looked after them and they're still perfectly wearable now.

Used to have horses- they were my 'drive to work in the freezing cold before I put my wellies on' boots (but never wore them in the yard- always swapped to wellies before I got out of the car)).

Literally amazing. Get them! (I bought the cleaning stuff for them- I don't think they'd have lasted so well without it. Comfort > style tbh!

NoProblem123 · 04/05/2021 21:31

I’d moved on from Ugg’s.

Now I’m right back in them but I wear them as house slippers, which is apparently what the Australians designed them for 🤷‍♀️

Therunecaster · 04/05/2021 21:32

I have kardern floors so my feet were freezing. I love the fur inside feels luxurious

Good tip. These are mint condition as DD 'went off them' I will look for the protected. Thanks for the tip.

I have ugg style slippers from M&S and I live in them when I'm at home! They're so comfortable 🙂

@StoneofDestiny

It's summer.
Where? Had some awful weather this week in south of England.

OP wear them, they are so cosy.
I remember it used to be controversial to wear socks with them but I always do.

HannaHat · 04/05/2021 21:42

They’re my favourite footwear, and if you take care of them they last for ages.

MrsHoneyman · 04/05/2021 21:50

I think mine are at least 7 years old, re-heeled once, still look fresh. Worn almost daily every winter!

Slub · 04/05/2021 21:52

"It's Summer"

Presume you're not in Yorkshire.

Love my Ugg boots but only wear inside or sitting out in the garden on a dry evening - super warm and comfy!

Therunecaster · 04/05/2021 21:54

You lovely ladies have persuaded me. I'm dithering between black boots or black / grey slippers.

I am looking forward to returning to work a couple of days as week but will miss my comfort shoes.

I love mine, wear them as slippers (with socks), never travel without them Grin. Wouldn’t wear them outdoors though, they’re indoor shoes only.

mightbealittlebitmad · 04/05/2021 21:55

I wouldn't be without mine, I wear them almost daily unless it's too warm. They get a lot of hate but I don't care, they are comfy and keep my feet warm.

My first pair lasted about 4 years before one of the boots started letting water in so I replaced them and hope to get the same wear out of them.

HoldontoOneMoreDay · 04/05/2021 21:57

I got a pair last time I was in Australia, when they eventually died a death I went for Celtic & Co house slippers. They are, admittedly, £££ but they are the best thing ever and as I work from home they're never off my feet. There's a right teasy draught goes round my ankles in my office. They have a non-chunky bottom sole so they don't bring in as much dirt from outside, apparently.

I've got one of those horrid drafts. Chills you from the calves down

I bought my first pair in America, so were cheaper than buying over here. I was going on my first long-haul holiday, envying people wearing this footwear in the airport; so once I found them I bought them.
