I mean, it's not been the most exciting but I do want to see it through. However, will it be ruined by Noel Clark now after all the accusations? Maybe itv will end up not showing it anyway.

I'll be watching it. Just because one person is a bad apple doesn't mean I can't watch it still. He isn't the only actor in the program, and it's not fair on the other actors to pull it
HalzTangz · 30/04/2021 18:39

@Condenast

They’ve just announced they’re not showing the last episode!!
Not showing it on Itv, it's still on Itv hub
Thestreets · 30/04/2021 18:42

I've just looked on itv hub and it's not there. Has anybody else found it?

ForThePurposeOfTheTape · 30/04/2021 18:43

It's not being aired

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/04/2021 18:47

I assume it will be there at 9
LovingBob · 30/04/2021 18:52

I don't think it is going on until 9, I will watch it as I have watched the other 4 episodes.

Anotherlovelybitofsquirrel · 30/04/2021 18:55

Its disgusting that's they've pulled it. Regardless of what he has or hasn't done. All the others in it and those that worked on it must be gutted. Ridiculous.

ForThePurposeOfTheTape · 30/04/2021 18:57

I think that the people who worked on it would rather it aired at a time when people would discuss the programme afterwards rather than Noel Clarke's behaviour.

Pottedpalm · 30/04/2021 19:03

I will be watching on the hub. I want to know what happens.

ForThePurposeOfTheTape · 30/04/2021 19:16

Apparently it will be on ITV hub until Sunday then removed

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/04/2021 21:03

5 is on demand /hub now

Rubyupbeat · 30/04/2021 21:42

I am gutted about the news on Noel Clarke, he is great actor and director, have watched him since Dr. Who. I loved his kidulthood trilogy .
If it's all true, then what an idiot, he has a lovely wife and 3 children, plus what once was a good career.
20 women so far have come forward and some well known.
But, I do need to watch the last episode of viewpoint, they are keeping it on catch up for a short time.

littlepattilou · 30/04/2021 21:48

@Aworldofmyown

I will watch it. Imagine putting all that work into a show and then it gets taken off air because of one knob. I don't agree with punishing everyone else whilst he's investigated.
I agree. So unfair on EVERYONE involved. The writer, director, producer, actors, actresses, EVERYONE.

Part 5 is due on the ITV hub til Sunday, but then it will be taken off air/off streaming etc, and will be archived.

So unfair on everyone else involved.

I have recorded the first 4, but not watched any yet. I will watch them all later on, and tomorrow, and will watch the fifth one tomorrow night. Like fuck am I not going to watch it.

As has been said, it's not fair on everyone else involved in the show, to ban it from ever being shown again!

mum2jakie · 30/04/2021 22:31

To be fair, littlepattilou, you're not missing much! Could have put it into two episodes and would still have been a crap ending...

lolacola77 · 01/05/2021 00:00

I thought it was shite bit the last episode takes the biscuit! What's wrong with TV dramas these days. It was dreadful. I think it would've damaged Noel Clarke's reputation even without the allegations.

Maggiesfarm · 01/05/2021 00:11

I'm watching the last but one episode that I missed, will then watch the final unless I fall asleep in which case it will be tomorrow.

It's hard going but I am sticking with it.

EnidSpyton · 01/05/2021 00:49

@littlepattilou I have to say I disagree.

One of the reasons why so much abuse goes on in the entertainment industry is because so many people turn a blind eye in order to further their own careers.

If everyone gets punished for one person's misdemeanour, then it forces a culture of collective responsibility. If I were on the set and heard Noel Clarke shouting at my co star, or Noel Clarke touching up the make up artist, or heard Noel Clarke making an inappropriate comment, but didn't say anything, I would be complicit in his behaviour. Unfortunately, this is the culture in the industry - don't say anything, because it might mean you don't get another job. But then when you do get another job, you find yourself in a similar situation where men are treating women appallingly, because this is the culture you have been a part of perpetuating. So something's got to give.

If change is going to happen, it has to happen collectively. If cancelling shows helps to create a sense of collective responsibility, then I can only see it is as a good thing. I feel sorry for those whose work now won't be shown, but if this means their working environments will be safer in future, then it will surely be worth the sacrifice.

Sometimeswinning · 01/05/2021 08:50

It does seem the outrage is missing because Noel is such a popular actor/writer I wonder.

I did, however, watch the last one and really enjoyed it.

OP posts:
Maggiesfarm · 01/05/2021 09:27

I watched it too.

I think people are bemused because he just doesn't seem like the type of bloke who would sexually harrass anyone. Yet 20+ accusations is huge.

It really is best not to speculate but wait and see what happens next.

thereisonlyoneofme · 01/05/2021 10:02

Whatever happened to being presumed innocent

FightingTheFoo · 01/05/2021 10:03

@Carolduckingbaskin

I feel for the other actors here. Why pull the show ok the last episode.

I read the guardian piece with absolute horror this morning.

Not just the other actors - it takes hundreds if not thousands of people to work on a production.

Lighting designers, sound designers, composers, music supervisors, grips, camera operators, boom operators, background actors, producers, writers...

And because one prick is an abuser the whole thing gets cancelled?

I've never even heard of Noel Clark before this week, have never watched this show, I believe the allegations and think they're horrendous but to cancel the last episode of a show viewers and crew have invested so much in is absurd. What's the point?

Alsohuman · 01/05/2021 10:04

@mum2jakie

To be fair, littlepattilou, you're not missing much! Could have put it into two episodes and would still have been a crap ending...
So right. It was a two parter crammed into five episodes. Alexandra Roach saved it, she was excellent.
Radio4Rocks · 01/05/2021 10:06

It should be left to grown adults to decide whether or not to watch. Ridiculous.

Brainwave89 · 01/05/2021 10:09

I watched Thursday's episode and even at that point when the love scene came on I felt uneasy. It crossed my mind to wonder how he had behaved with the actress involved. I would have watched the end, but it wasn't that great, and I certainly cannot watch it now.
