OppsUpsSide · 26/04/2021 21:32

No

chloeb8 · 26/04/2021 21:33

No.
Family relationships can be odd.

luciles · 26/04/2021 21:34

No

MadMadMadamMim · 26/04/2021 21:34

No. I adore my oldest friend. She is literally my best friend in the whole world.

I thoroughly dislike my bitch of a sister and my weird brother. Couldn't honestly give a shit about either of them.

romdowa · 26/04/2021 21:36

I probably care more about acquaintances than my own sibling but my sibling is a toxic pos

omg35 · 26/04/2021 21:37

Not at all. Quite like my brother but my sister is awful!

JeanClaudeVanDammit · 26/04/2021 21:37

No

Thatisnotwhatisaid · 26/04/2021 21:38

No, I think that’s normal tbh.

GreyhoundG1rl · 26/04/2021 21:38

Not in the least.

GrumpyMiddleAgedWoman · 26/04/2021 21:40

Nope.
Some siblings can be toxic and unpleasant.

Inthesameboatatmo · 26/04/2021 21:41

Nope ,not odd at all .
I fuckin hate my siblings but adore my friends.
The old saying that you can choose your friends but cant pick your family is very apt

AccidentallyOnPurpose · 26/04/2021 21:41

My friend loves me more than her siblings. Shouldn't be hard since she hates two of them and barely tolerates the third.Grin

Not at all. The relationships I have with my friends is so much more cherished than that I have with my Dsis.

Hobnobsandbroomstick · 26/04/2021 21:43

No. I'm one of them.

Cottagepieandpeas · 26/04/2021 21:43

No

NameChangedForThisFeb21 · 26/04/2021 21:43

No. Blood isn’t thicker than water. Not every family is a happy one, siblings aren’t perfect and sometimes we find our “family” with our friends.

toomanypillows · 26/04/2021 21:43

I don't think I'd find it odd, because everyone has different lived experiences and histories with their families, but I can't relate because I love my sister more than anyone (except DC)

Aprilshowersandhail · 26/04/2021 21:44

I love my ddogs more than my parents... I reckon that's canny normal!

Happycat1212 · 26/04/2021 21:44

No haven’t spoken to my own sister in a year, siblings aren’t always close

CandyLeBonBon · 26/04/2021 21:46

Nope. My brother refused to acknowledge me for most of my late teen/adult life (I'm 51 now, for reference) and I still have no idea why.

My friends were and have been more supportive that he ever was. He took his own life in December so I will never know why he hated me so much, but no, there are plenty of reasons why people value friends over siblings/family.

MrsTerryPratchett · 26/04/2021 21:46

I love my brother but I'd use him as a human shield to save my best friend.

GoodnightOwl · 26/04/2021 21:47

I care far more about most of my friends than most of my family members.

LemonRoses · 26/04/2021 21:47

Not at all. Families aren’t always close.

LongDistanceClaret · 26/04/2021 21:48

This is reassuring reading for parents who worry about having only one child (like I did even though it was my only option)
