Born in the USA - Bruce Springsteen was been played everywhere during a wonderful Summer when I turned 21 out in the UAE, loooooong before it was developed into the destination it is today.

Fleetwood Macs greatest hits listened to on a long drive to the Isle of Wight around 1989. Still listen to it all these years later and it takes me right back!

Jennifer Rush - the power of love, brings me right back to the place, the feeling, and the time, my first love, I'll never forget him, we were just too young.

Spice Girls- Stop

Reminds me of a caravan holiday in 1997/1998 and me dancing away to it at the disco.

ItsGotABitOfPink · 23/04/2021 19:35

Adele someone like you.
Very happy times just before my life changed a lot!

The Dock of the Bay - Otis Redding

Played on the radio as I was getting ready to leave the house for my passing out parade. Such a sunny, warm, laid back song for 5am on a stressful snowy morning ⛄️

Baker street. Walking out of the underground, rainstorm stopped, early evening sun comes out and busker playing the saxophone right from Baker Street.

I have no idea why, 30 odd years later that memory stays with me. I wasn't with anyone special or going anywhere particularly nice. But that moment is still with me years later

Celine Dion Think Twice takes me right back to playing Theme Park on the Amiga 500!

ShinyMe · 23/04/2021 19:40

I heard I'm in the Moooood for Dancing the other day on the radio as I was driving to work, and i was instantly back at uni, with my best mate, getting ready to go out out.

Glen Campbell, Wichita Lineman transports me back to childhood, camping in an almost deserted campground in the Fall with my family. We had a portable record player.

Salt-N-Pepper Push It. First holiday with friend rather than parents. 1988. Butlins 😁 Priceless.

Brainwave89 · 23/04/2021 19:46

Living in the love of the common people. Snogged a boy I liked at school to this. He eventually become my first. Great times with few cares.

Barry Blue Dancin' on a Saturday night, sitting in the woods by a stream singing with my mates. Silver Machine by Hawkwind, first holiday (in a caravan) and taken to a disco by my (strait laced) parents. I was 11.

MumofPsuedoAdult · 23/04/2021 19:47

Madness - It must be love - takes me right back to a little 24 hour bar with a jukebox that my friends and I used to go to after night shifts at a restaurant in the early 90s (another country)

I love this song. I first heard it only a couple of years ago and it is truly lovely. However, I did have to google to see where Wichita was, and what a lineman was....sorry!

Missing by Everything But The Girl takes me back to doing A level Art. There were only 3 of us on the course and the other 2 rarely showed up so I had the class to myself, we had little supervision. This song was always on the radio.

ListeningQuietly · 23/04/2021 19:48

Blue Monday

he's been dead 5 years
I still miss him viscerally

my husband accepts
not sure how I feel other than sad and old

Groove is in the Heart by Deelite. University, night out at Cindies, with a group including the lovely previous ex of the man I'd just broken up with. When I got together with my next boyfriend who id fancied for years it turned out that he'd shagged her too. She was a great girl tbf. So, lighthearted complications but nothing too serious, before adulthood got going.

thatonesmine · 23/04/2021 19:50

The Green Manalishi by Fleetwood Mac. I'm 13/14ish and sitting in the back of my parents car as it plays on the radio, on our way to Cornwall.

JoanWilderbeast · 23/04/2021 19:51

I Found Lovin', The Fatback Band. We were the last to leave Le Beat Route one night and the DJ played this. I remember dashing over to him to ask what it was :)

Knackered1986 · 23/04/2021 19:52

Sams town by the Killers. Driving around South Africa on holiday with my soon to be husband and his sister, brother in law and niece
