What do you think? Yes or no?
Sky or just Netflix?
Big or small?

You’re a grown up? Do what you want.

I don’t have one at home but love telly in bed on holidays.

ShirleyPhallus · 17/04/2021 22:04

If you want one, get one.

Personally I prefer to keep my bedroom for shagging and sleeping so it’s pretty bare otherwise but if you want one get it

TrickorTreacle · 17/04/2021 22:04

If you've got a couple of hundred quid spare, then go for it. Only you can answer that question.

LubaLuca · 17/04/2021 22:11

I say don't. It will clash with the dressing table and sex swing.

skippy67 · 17/04/2021 22:12

Yeah, if you want to.

MintyCedric · 17/04/2021 22:12

I'd love to in theory but since I'm single...Grin

I've got a 28" smart TV in my bedroom and I bloody love it!

Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube - I mainly got it so I could have a virtual fireplace on. I'm just about to head up, get cosy and binge watch Line of Duty.

I also have a Dolce Gusto in my bedroom

Whereisthewarmth · 17/04/2021 22:13

Sex swings aside...

Op it's my biggest luxury. I absolutely adore it! The difference when ill, being able to watch something, it wakes me up as alarm... I love watching TV or films on bed, again absolutely a life saver with small dc when one of us was ill!!

Love it...

LagunaBubbles · 17/04/2021 22:14

Why do you need strangers to say whether you should get a TV or not, thats bizarre!

WisestIsShe · 17/04/2021 22:21

I resisted for years. I'd read somewhere that couple who don't have a TV in the bedroom have twice as much sex. (No idea where)
Anyway now I have teenagers in the front room I enjoy being able to go to bed early and watch something, or have a cup of tea with gardeners world on a Sunday morning.
So I vote do it.

jiigsaw · 17/04/2021 22:27

No. Very very uncivilised 😬

jelly79 · 17/04/2021 22:29

@Holothane what's with the police box? Sorry if I have missed a theme

IncorrigibleTitmouse · 17/04/2021 22:30

We have so many TVs it’s obscene. Mostly due to combining our homes when we moved in together, but still! I love having one in the bedroom, I need background noise to fall asleep.

jelly79 · 17/04/2021 22:30

OP...surely if you want one you get one?

IncorrigibleTitmouse · 17/04/2021 22:31

Love your Whovian theme @Holothane!

1Morewineplease · 17/04/2021 22:32

We have one but I never watch it. Husband watches it for a few minutes then goes to sleep.

MeanderingGently · 17/04/2021 22:33

I have a bedroom TV, it's wonderful!
Absolutely lovely to be able to go to bed, put a programme on (or the news!), curl up and watch.

Also, in the day, I might be watching something but doing jobs (dusting, changing the sheets etc) and I have all the TVs on, I can go from room to room and not miss anything happening.

If I'm ill I can retire to bed and watch films to distract myself from my misery....

Go for it.
Don't get a massive one, it will look odd in the bedroom, but one sizeable enough to be able to watch a programme while in bed. Mine is positioned so that I can lie down and still watch, I don't have to sit up in bed (as in some badly thought-out hotel rooms).

1000umbrellas · 17/04/2021 22:41

How do you lie down and watch, @MeanderingGently?? Is your TV on the ceiling?

Sparklingbrook · 17/04/2021 22:44

Yes, get one. The biggest one that you can fit in. I love mine, and yes, my 'sleep hygiene' is just fine. Grin

1000umbrellas · 17/04/2021 22:44

I'm not being snarky, I really want you to describe this set-up very precisely, because I feel like I need this in my life RIGHT NOW.

queenofthenorthwest · 17/04/2021 22:50

Telly In bed.
My favourite thing. Day or night.
Peace to watch your own programmes anytime you want.

Why would you not?

Babygotblueyes · 17/04/2021 23:03

I have one. Watch it once in a blue moon but so much nicer than watching on a laptop. Put my old one in when I got a smart tv so I can only watch freeview but that is just fine and I really appreciate it.

Cheeseandlobster · 17/04/2021 23:17

@jiigsaw

No. Very very uncivilised 😬
Seriously? If you can't be "uncivilised" in your own home then when can you? Sod civilised op. If you think you would get use and enjoyment out of one then go for it. I had proper flu a couple of years ago and my bedroom TV was a godsend. I didnt care one iota for civilised then Hmm
PuppyMonkey · 17/04/2021 23:29

It’s a yes from me, I love my telly in bed. DP brings me a cup of tea in the morning and it’s so nice to wake up and put telly on and watch the news (or the crap shopping channels - yes I know that’s just me).

Holothane · 18/04/2021 00:00

@jelly79 I’m a Dr who fan have been for 30 years I’ve met two actors who’ve played the Dr and am just nuts about the show. The police box is the Tardis, in 1963 when the show started police boxes were still common in the U.K., so the Dr travels in one because the chameleon cuircit died, it’s always been a police box it never changed.
