First chips with no salt and vinegar and now this (light hearted)

As per my other thread a few weeks ago, on the topic of low level disappointment DH got me chippy chips without salt and vinegar. I got a few LTBs then. I foolishly gave him another chance at subway today
We have been married a long time. He knows what crisps I eat and what I drink.
I never eat white bread at home unless the odd tiger bread binge. I always get seeded bread at Subway. Well he went so off piste.
No cheese and toasted, just cold sandwich, no sauce. The worst white bread. Then to crisps. Bloody sun bites. WTF? If this is a stealth way to tell me I need to diet, he has failed. I'd sooner eat no crisps at all those those cardboard pretenders. Very very odd. He either doesn't know me or has another woman whose tastes he knows very well
Anyone had a low level Hmm today or just me?

Okay, he had his second chance and he blew it. You need to look after yourself now. It’s time to leave. Wishing you a future filled with salt, vinegar and kettle crisps.

SummerHouse · 10/04/2021 14:06

"Cardboard pretenders" Grin

You are right. This man cannot be trusted to get you food.

ICantBeDoingWithThis · 10/04/2021 14:07

So sorry but I like sun bites, what has happened to the sea salt ones, does anyone know?!

bilbodog · 10/04/2021 14:07

Sorry - its your fault OP - i would NEVER trust my DH to get anything right..............

BarbaraofSeville · 10/04/2021 14:36

You left him to guess what you wanted from subway with its 'bombard you with a dozen questions' approach to making a sandwich and you're complaining he got it wrong?

How was he supposed to know which of their cryptically named Bread types matches the one you wanted but didn't actually specify?

GreyhoundG1rl · 10/04/2021 14:38

Why didn't you tell him what you wanted? Confused

MrsBDarcy · 10/04/2021 15:03

Did I miss that bit sorry ? I did give him my order aside from crisps. Crisps was my fault I suppose...but really? He's seen me choose cheese or original Doritos a hundred times. I'd have even taken a Quaver. Lighthearted like I say ...but I shall never forget. He actually just now made the mistake of saying "can you get me some cream cakes at Tesco? You know what I like Mrs B!" Mwah ha ha. Revenge will be mine. Maybe I'll buy Jaffa cakes. He hates those.
Ooh why the ducks btw? And I think I've seen the salted cardboard in Sainsbury's if that helps their sole customer for those Grin.

GreyhoundG1rl · 10/04/2021 15:09

You did miss that relevant bit, yes.

WhereamI88 · 10/04/2021 15:10

So you told him exactly what you want and he got something completely different? That's not funny. That's a selfish arsehole.

ICantBeDoingWithThis · 10/04/2021 15:11

I’m off to Sainsbury’s then thanks OP, I love a packet or two of salted cardboard 😋

SummerHouse · 10/04/2021 15:12

Ducks were a reference to "get your ducks in a row" in lieu of a LTB. Sorry, too criptic.

CommunistLegoBloc · 10/04/2021 15:13

Greyhoundg1rl, I bloody love greyhounds but must you come on every thread and be difficult? It's a light-hearted thread, it doesn't need forensic analysis.

My DP said he'd got me a present from the supermarket the other day and it was the yoghurt I'd ASKED him to buy. Brief fantasy of a multi pack of Kinder Buenos, then cruelly snatched away.

Alreadyinmypyjamas · 10/04/2021 15:13

I've been with my husband ten years and there's no way I'd trust him with my Subway order.

YABU just for that.

ICantBeDoingWithThis · 10/04/2021 15:13

You got my hopes up there OP only the other cardboard flavours 😭

First chips with no salt and vinegar and now this (light hearted)
InTheNightWeWillWish · 10/04/2021 15:21

YANBU OP

I could maybe understand if he got the sunbites because they’d run out of Doritos and he panicked a bit. Although cheese Doritos? Come on OP, it’s all about the chilli heatwave. Actually, why am I defending you when they don’t even get a mention? YABVVVU.

DeciduousPerennial · 10/04/2021 15:22

There would be no point in sending mine in subway unless I wrote a list for him to hand over.

This falls into ’if you want something doing right, do it yourself’.

But the crisps are unforgivable: buy him a plain scone in lieu of cream cake. He deserves it.

Blueberrycreampie · 10/04/2021 15:23

I got it! Waves!
MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 10/04/2021 15:24

Sun bites

Fucking hell

You know what to do

Blueberrycreampie · 10/04/2021 15:25

I would get him a cake with synthetic cream. Payback time!

MrsBDarcy · 10/04/2021 15:26

@InTheNightWeWillWish both kids get the chilli ones. Youngest never finishes them so I get them. Got it covered don't worry !
I'm so sorry about the sea salted ones. If I see them I'll buy some and post them to you

🦆🦆🦆🦆
This made me laugh. High five.
MrsBDarcy · 10/04/2021 15:35

Ooh one of those frozen cream cakes - they've got synthetic cream yes? Mind you he likes that bloody frozen fish in butter sauce so would likely be thrilled

OP posts:
InTheNightWeWillWish · 10/04/2021 15:36

Grin until the heartbreaking day when your youngest can finish a bag, then you’ve got a choice to make. Bit like Sophie’s choice.

Maybe your DH is just doing you a favour and preparing you for that choice? —Although, would sun bites ever be considered?—

If it makes you feel better, my DH was a bit lax with my cream cheese on my bagel. One half of my bagel had multiple patches of bagel visible. Multiple. I don’t know if he thinks there’s a cream cheese shortage or if he’s testing the ratios of bagel:cream cheese and what my tipping point is Hmm

happywarrior1312 · 10/04/2021 15:51

No cheese and no toasted is unforgivable, however, I will say sunbites are very yummy! Grin
