AIBU to ask one of you to tell me the ending to a film I could not stand to finish watching (**spoilers - hopefully**)

Last night I started to watch “Honeydew”. I should have realised I would not be able to watch to the end. But I picked it quickly and was “taken in” by the 15 certificate I think (I never choose 18 horror films as I know I won’t be able to stomach them). Anyway I stopped watching about 20 mins from the end, just after they got the woman out of the box and fed her.

I’d really appreciate a (not too graphic) narrative of what happened after that and how the film ended. I’ve searched on-line and can’t see the ending described anywhere.

I found the film very unsettling and think I won’t get “closure” on it until I know the ending. Or maybe I don’t want to know!

I’ve not seen it but if you go to IMDb.com & search the film they have a section called plot synopsis which should clue you in

Neither wikipedia nor imdb have a full plot for this film though. I haven't seen it but thanks for the warning, I can see I definitely wouldn't enjoy it!

there was a long review on a site called indie reviews, but TBH it all sounded too tedious to read more than the first paragraph.

Thanks for replies. Honestly, I’ve checked all the usual searches. There are quite detailed synopses (which obviously had I read before I started to watch it would have caused me not to watch at all). But nowhere is the ending detailed. I watch a lot of films and tend to find that Wikipedia and others don’t give the ending away when a film is newly released. I’m usually good at picking things that suit my tastes. I fell very short this time. Though the filmography and the soundtrack were inventive.

I woke up still thinking about it. That’s why I posted. But I think I’ll just move on now. Though if anyone has watched it and is minded to tell me...

I have to say I am quite shocked this was a 15.

The family lobotomise their children and then eat them whilst keeping them alive - the daughter has no limbs and is kept in a box. The son tries to free the woman but they’re caught. The ending shows she is pregnant and her husband is lobotomised and being used to impregnate the daughter.

Thanks for telling me. That’s at least closure; of sorts! I’m astonished it got a 15 certificate. I stupidly thought it was going to be more psychologically creepy. Not a gore fest. I never touch 18 certificate horror movies. More fool me for thinking I’d be safe with a 15. I’ll know to read the the synopses more carefully next time.

@RedFrogsRule nope, I’m a horror fan so thought I’d stick this on - it’s a really unpleasant film with nothing to recommend it (and I was Tartan Asia Extreme’s biggest fan).

I really am very grateful to you for enduring this on my account. I did think the soundtrack was clever. But it was a horrible film. I’m touched you persevered and told me about it! 😊

Blinking heck. What the actual is the certificate for if not to avoid films with people EATING CHILDREN? And chopping off girls' limbs.

You can find the plot of most films in Wikipedia. With enough details to count as spoilers and even details of the ending
