To think that my breasts will be this size forever

Disclaimer, this is a very self indulgent first world problem, but it is really really getting me down.

I'm still breastfeeding DC2(16 months) and my boobs are still massive. 30G. It is making me so miserable. I'm back to a healthy weight and size everywhere else. Clothes don't fit nicely. Supportive bras that make me look nice in clothes are impossible to find.

Will they stay this size forever? With DC1 they were back to normal by the time he was this age, and I was still breastfeeding then too. I just want to look and feel nice in clothes again.

Anyone got any to tips to help reduce the size or at least make them look smaller and neater in clothes? I can't give up the feeding yet.

I'm losing weight to try and help but it's not coming off from there and I don't have loads to lose from everywhere else.

I'm 13 weeks pregnant, at this incredible stage right now where my stomach is still very flat but my breasts have grown massively so they're 32F now. I'm freaking in love with them! I'm wearing tight tshirts and tanks to show off my proportions while I still can because I know this figure will probably be gone in a couple weeks! Sorry I know this isn't helpful to your problem but just wanted to give another viewpoint!

ZednotZee · 31/03/2021 21:41

How old are you OP?

I found after finishing breastfeeding my last DC at 34 they never really deflated whereas they did after previous DC.
I also carry more weight in my arms now whereas my legs are slimmer than they have ever been in my adult life.
I blame hormones.

Cleverpolly3 · 31/03/2021 21:58

I’ve been breastfeeding my three kids over the last seven years continuously throughout the two subsequent pregnancies and still feeding my almost three and a half year old.

It’s only recently my breasts have gone down from a 34 H to a 34 f and that’s because I’m largely down to night feeds and occasional daytime ones if he’s a bit off colour. They look a bit sorry for themselves compared to the voluminous beauties they once were!

I have loads of old balconette bras which suited the shape and spacing of my pre baby breast and I’m hoping they will f it me once again as I’ve lost the top “swell” 😆

Aroundthelight · 31/03/2021 22:18

@shivawn enjoy them!!!!

I'm 34 @ZednotZee . Perhaps this is just my new shape then and I need to get used to it .... But I don't like it!!

@Cleverpolly3 that's interesting to know... I think the continual pregnancy and breastfeeding means mine never really settled but I just wish I knew that they would. Perhaps as DC2 reduces her feeding then... She does still feed in the day as well as at night. I'll try and be hopeful !

This isn't helpful, but welcome to my life! I'm 5'4, small frame, and 30g. It's a fucking nightmare. I'm absolutely dreading the state of them if I ever have a baby. Every time I stand up I'm gonna fall on my face.

DistantVworp · 31/03/2021 23:15

Mine did eventually get smaller after giving up feeding DD, but it was a case of going from a 36M to a 34H...

The main (horrible) thing I've noticed is that now all the weight of them is at the bottom, and they are oddly empty on top - makes buying bras a real pain.

B33Fr33 · 31/03/2021 23:22

Is the toddler still feeding a lot? Mainly I found very little change sizewise after about one year to when they stopped feeding, but they were probably only likely to feed once or twice a day tops.

Pepperberry clothes are good for tops or dresses. It might be worth getting a couple of basics that fit well while you wait to see if there is any change.

ButIcantsitonleather · 31/03/2021 23:27

I feel mugged off. Mine went up to a B when I was pregnant. 😳

RampantIvy · 31/03/2021 23:31

@ButIcantsitonleather

I feel mugged off. Mine went up to a B when I was pregnant. 😳
And mine went up to an A from an AA when pregnant, and never got any bigger when breast feeding either Sad
Aroundthelight · 01/04/2021 08:31

@ButIcantsitonleather @RampantIvy I'd happily meet you somewhere in between our letters!!

Hmmm looks like I'm stuck for now then. Any recommendations of good bras to make my clothes look better gratefully received...

I get my bras from Bravissimo. I was amazed when they measured me I had gone from a C cup to an F.

Flev · 01/04/2021 08:58

34HH here - and I also went up to a M when breastfeeding!

I'd recommend Bravissimo - especially once store's open again if they are doing fittings. Their bras are really supportive but not frumpy, so you can still feel good about yourself. Once you get a decent bra, you should also find clothing is less of a, challenge, as your boobs will be in the right place!

renovationfatigue · 01/04/2021 09:25

My figure didn't go back to pre pregnancy until after I'd completely finished breastfeeding - 2 years in dd's case. I preferred my breasts during pregnancy/breast feeding but I'm not blessed in that department as you are!

Liverbird77 · 01/04/2021 09:55

@ButIcantsitonleather @RampantIvy I am so jealous! I'd give anything for small boobs.
I'd love to be comfy braless and I also think that clothes look 100 times better.

RampantIvy · 01/04/2021 10:03

and I also think that clothes look 100 times better

@Liverbird77, no not really. When I buy clothes with darts in and they hang emptily because there is nothing to put in them. Having to wear a padded bra to not look like a boy. Having hips several inches bigger than my bust so I can't wear shift dresses.

Having boys make nasty comments when you are 16 "I bet you look like a 12 year old boy with no clothes on". This happened to DD at school. I was so incensed that I reported this boy to school, and I am happy to say that they took this very seriously.

TBH I am past 60 now and not bothered, but I was very bothered when I was young.

Liverbird77 · 01/04/2021 10:11

@RampantIvy interesting to hear the other side of it.
I guess we often crave what we don't have.
I have always wanted a straight up and down figure, like Kate Moenig (sp?). It'll never happen, sadly.

RampantIvy · 01/04/2021 10:11

Yes. We need to be careful what we wish for.

ScarfaceCwaw · 01/04/2021 10:16

I was breastfeeding and/or pregnant continuously for about 5 years, and my boobs did go down a bit when I got into the second year of feeding my youngest and then stopped feeding completely. (I imagine it didn't happen the first time because I got pregnant again instead.) So it still could happen if feeding tapers off a bit or stops. No guarantees though.

QueenPaw · 01/04/2021 10:19

I mostly wear elomi bras but not sure if they do a 30 back. Bravissimo otherwise are v good
I'm a 34K. God help me if I ever have children

DIYandEatCake · 01/04/2021 10:29

Mine only went back to pre-pregnancy size after I’d completely finished breastfeeding. I was gutted though, having got to an A cup from barely an AA I was really hoping they’d stay! I can imagine though, much as I wish I actually had boobs, that huge ones are a pain in terms of backache, running etc. Friends with larger boobs rate Bravissimo.

thecatsthecats · 01/04/2021 10:31

I've gone back up to a 34 back which is a relief, because I was flirting with the borders of 30/32 h/j at one point and the bras available were fucking horrendous.

Would it fucking kill them to produce something in colour or pattern, or put a bit of lace on it?

(separate gripe - I really, REALLY hope that the spike in provision of non-wired lounging bras results in a corresponding spike in non-wired DD+ swimwear. Why do they think that every woman with big knockers wants her boobs shoved up under her chin in a swimsuit? I'm perfectly happy with a more relaxed fit of swimwear, and it's far more comfortable.)

listsandbudgets · 01/04/2021 10:33

When I was breastfeeding mine went up to a J cup. This was not nice not least because the nursing bras cost an absolute fortune.

However afterwards they thankfully went back to their normal F which is quite big enough for me thanks

MaverickDanger · 01/04/2021 10:35

I’m currently breastfeeding and have gone from a 32G to a 34K.

I’m still a stone overweight so not fitting comfortably into my pre-pregnancy clothes, but I’m already having to size up over my boobs.

DemobHappy · 01/04/2021 10:40

Mine went from a C cup to a G cup with my first baby, but back down to a D within about a year, after losing my baby weight and stopping feeding.

The same didn’t happen after DC2, though. She is 12 years old now, and despite being the slimmest I’ve been in 20 years, I still have F cups. I’ve accepted them, but they are hard to dress. I size up in tops and my bras are...not pretty Grin.

PoTheDog · 01/04/2021 10:42

Bravissimo Millie! I'm in love with the new green colour.

I also like the Panache Envy, but the band is stiffer and probably comes up half a size smaller and I need to size up in the cup
