To think that my breasts will be this size forever

Disclaimer, this is a very self indulgent first world problem, but it is really really getting me down.

I'm still breastfeeding DC2(16 months) and my boobs are still massive. 30G. It is making me so miserable. I'm back to a healthy weight and size everywhere else. Clothes don't fit nicely. Supportive bras that make me look nice in clothes are impossible to find.

Will they stay this size forever? With DC1 they were back to normal by the time he was this age, and I was still breastfeeding then too. I just want to look and feel nice in clothes again.

Anyone got any to tips to help reduce the size or at least make them look smaller and neater in clothes? I can't give up the feeding yet.

I'm losing weight to try and help but it's not coming off from there and I don't have loads to lose from everywhere else.

You need to embrace them. Time to invest in some good bras. Bravissimo is definitely the place to go if you're unsure of size/style.

Brand wise, I like Curvy Kate, Panache, Elomi.

And bravissimo tops as well, made for different size boobs within the dress size so you get eg 12 curvy, 12 really curvy, 12 super curvy. These solve the problem of the shirts that gape and pull at the buttons or are too big at the shoulders. And dresses and jackets.

Hmmm seems that acceptance is what I need to work on then.... Will check out the bravissimo ones suggested, thank you. I did get a few from there but was so depressed that the enormous cups were too small that I sent them back and haven't yet reordered in bigger size!

True that the grass is always greener and I guess it's just the thing about my body that I find dissatisfying, but for someone else it's something different!

Have you actually been measured? Or have a look at the Boob or Bust website.

allfurcoatnoknickers · 01/04/2021 18:31

I was a 30F before I got pregnant. breastfed for 6 months, and they were so big and uncomfortable the whole time. They looked horrendous right after i stopped breastfeeding, but by about 3 months later they'd gone pretty much back to normal...and by that I mean a 30F.

Get yourself some well fitting bras. Freya and cleo work best for me, but YMMV.

Aroundthelight · 01/04/2021 18:47

@NotATomato no haven't been measured but did the boob or bust one and it said 30G... Ordered some and they fitted apart from overspill on one boob, so will try H. Looking forward to being able to go to a shop and have someone more skilled than me measure!

The answer is to extended bf. I fed my first to almost 3 and by the end they were tiny shrivelled things. Second pregnancy sorted them but expecting them to go the same way this time

TestingTestingWonTooFree · 01/04/2021 18:52

Don’t forget there’s 30GG in between 30g and 30h.

marplemead · 01/04/2021 19:00

I went up from a B to a D cup with my first pregnancy and breastfed for 4 years. They never went back down to a B cup, even when I lost weight. I still have all my lovely underwear B-cup bras in the hope that one day they will. I'm pregnant again and my breasts are even bigger 😭

My pre-pregnancy clothes don't hang very well over a larger chest, because they are more suited to a pear shape. I don't really know how to dress for a more hourglass figure.

BewareTheBeardedDragon · 01/04/2021 19:03

Ime they will shrink but not while youre still bf. Mine were 32H while I was still feeding dd, then went to 32GG after I stopped and stayed that way for a while. They I lost some weight and they've gone to 30F which is roughly what they were before I started having dc. I do feel like clothes fit nicer with less generous boobage, but like pp they are not the same shape at all now, which is a little sad but to be expected.

BluebellCockleshell123 · 01/04/2021 19:05

I was a 32F before I got pregnant and went up to a HH cup when breastfeeding. Went down to a FF after I stopped feeding and I’m sure they’d go down a bit more of i could lose weight! I know how you feel... just wish mine were D cups or something less heavy.

everythingbackbutyou · 01/04/2021 19:31

I am on a list for a breast reduction and I can't bloody wait (I am 34G). So sick of having massive tits and dents in my shoulders from my bra. I have drawers full of t shirts that I can't wear . No one else in my family has massive boobs ffs.

ThankGodForChocolate · 01/04/2021 19:40

Don't think they do maternity bras but attollo lingerie do small band big cups and they're quite flattering/pretty. They also do zoom fittings and are really knowledgeable, it's a small company run by women with big boobs so they understand the struggles!

NotATomato · 02/04/2021 13:01

Bravissimo lady also taught me to do the swoop and scoop so all your breast tissue sits in the cup, the middle bit is also supposed to sit flat against your chest. But again this is something they can look at when you get measured.

Depending on the style you may need a different cup or back size. I’ve got a couple of bras that unfortunately I can’t wear as they dig in. But I’ve found a style now that fits perfectly so now I can order them online.

Gandalfsthong · 02/04/2021 14:11

Really feel for you, I had the same issue. Mine did go back to a 32e after I finished breastfeeding. I still hate them, the backache is hideous as are the bras, I do think they will get a bit smaller when you are finished.

RampantIvy · 02/04/2021 18:33

I would love to be a 32E
Miserly 32B here Sad
