Would you go to this wedding?

Original wedding postponed due to Covid to 2022 but I'm now pregnant.

We don't want to wait to be married and all 'proper' weddings are fully booked this year.

Would you attend a low key registry office wedding followed by drinks / bbq in the couples garden?

Or possibly just family at the registry office and invite other guests to the bbq? No pressure to stay a long time etc. Very laid back.

Does it sound naff / weird?

Sounds perfect to me!

AnneLovesGilbert · 27/03/2021 21:30

Congratulations! Yes I’d definitely go. I really like the wedding ceremony, that’s the point of a wedding, so I’d be disappointed to miss that but would understand numbers restrictions at the moment.

Garlia · 27/03/2021 21:31

Sounds brilliant, and congratulations!

WithTeaTree · 27/03/2021 21:33

Sounds good to me, I’d attend. I had a big wedding with 100+ guests and although I enjoyed it, if I had my time again I’d do the exact opposite.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 27/03/2021 21:33

Definitely. Would be glad I didn't have to buy a fancy new dress (if I was just invented for the bbq) and could go in something a bit more casual.

Sounds lovely. Congratulations.

LoveIsAllThereIs · 27/03/2021 21:39

Of course! Sounds lovely. Congratulations and happy planning

IggyAce · 27/03/2021 21:39

Sounds great, my dh photographed a wedding very similar to your plan a couple of years ago. It was in brides parents garden he said it was lovely everyone was relaxed and all had a good time. I think they did a buffet and did hire waiting staff so everyone could enjoy the day.

Leeds2 · 27/03/2021 21:40

Sounds much nicer than the "traditional" set up. I would definitely attend.

PleaseReferToMeAsBritneySpears · 27/03/2021 21:40

It's what we did. Do it!

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 27/03/2021 21:41

Yes, I dislike big show weddings and love an intimate ceremony where it’s all about the vows and the commitment.

HundredMilesAnHour · 27/03/2021 21:41

Actually it sounds really lovely. I would definitely come.

Fafferly · 27/03/2021 21:43

Sounds ideal and you will save a fortune for your future.

Notaroadrunner · 27/03/2021 21:43

That sounds like a fabulous, fun, intimate wedding. I'd definitely go.

Gormless · 27/03/2021 21:44

Another yes here: sounds like a perfect wedding to me!

NailsNeedDoing · 27/03/2021 21:46

It sounds like a lovely wedding to be invited to.

ludothedog · 27/03/2021 21:52

Sounds lovely to me too and I'm not really a fan of a wedding

AllThatFancyPaintsAsFair · 27/03/2021 21:52

Why wouldn't anyone want to attend? The fact that you're even asking suggests that there must be a back story in which case whether people you don't know would come isn't going to help with the people you do know surely?

DIshedUp · 27/03/2021 21:53

Of course! It sounds lovely

Ameliablue · 27/03/2021 21:53

Of course your close family and friends would attend unless other circumstances prohibit.

Spied · 27/03/2021 21:54

I'd prefer it to a large formal affair.

Floralnomad · 27/03/2021 21:55

That’s the only kind of wedding I like .

DeciduousPerennial · 27/03/2021 21:55

That’s my kind of wedding

snowone · 27/03/2021 21:57

Sounds amazing!!
