The wall game show gives me rage

I love a game show but what the hell is this? Danny dyer doing the Danny dyer show while asking mind numbingly easy questions, e.g. what's 1+1? Is it:
A) 2
B)348653
C) 12

Then some stupid contestant debating out loud why the answer can't be the other two and meekly giving the correct answer.

Deal or no deal wound me up too. It's opening fucking boxes for gods sake.

What game shows drive you mad?

I'm not a total heathen, used to love the price is right and generation game.

Yep its annoying, especially when they drop the ball and go mad shouting go left go left, no no not that way ...... the ball will drop where it friggin well wants without you shouting at it.

KatherineOfGaunt · 27/03/2021 19:20

DH and I watched it once a couple of weeks ago. We were gobsmacked at how awful it was. Danny Dyer just saying the same lines over and over again while constantly turning away from the wall and wandering around. And I felt sorry for the woman in the booth for virtually the whole game - how boring, just answering a couple of questions on your own in a little room.

Notaroadrunner · 27/03/2021 19:23

Drives me nuts too the way they shout at the wall, though I gather they are told to do it. Then at the end when they have to be all serious and say how difficult it was to be in isolation. I'm still watching it now though 😄

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 27/03/2021 19:24

so don't watch it?

LagunaBubbles · 27/03/2021 19:26

Ilikewinter

I dont think that's The Wall! Grin

megletthesecond · 27/03/2021 19:26

I love it Blush.
They've started hamming up the talky bit at the end in this series.

DenisetheMenace · 27/03/2021 19:27

Agree. Astonishes me how many millions watch such rubbish.

Mumdiva99 · 27/03/2021 19:28

I don't mind it. It's Saturday night easy family viewing. Although we used to prefer Jason Manfords First and Last. The anticipation of seeing when they will jump out of the box or find out who brought the heaviest carrot. On paper it should be shit....but it was funny and the kids enjoyed playing along.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 27/03/2021 19:29

It’s his inability to pronounce the word wall that gets me

Krazynights34 · 27/03/2021 19:30

The Wall is indeed shit. And can Danny Dyer be anything else but his shit self.
He looks like he needs a good wash.

Knitterbabe · 27/03/2021 19:46

I quite like The Wall. It’s better than Gordon Ramsay’s Bank Balance. Now that was shit!

PandaFluff · 27/03/2021 19:52

I was just going to say that bank balance one was awful!
Ilikewinter · 27/03/2021 20:15

Oh god yeah that was shocking

zukiecat · 27/03/2021 20:18

I'm not familiar with this show.

I do love The Chase though, love Bradley Walsh!

TrickorTreacle · 27/03/2021 21:13

I don't know of a programme called "The Wall". Haven't watched much TV during corona tbf though.

I wasn't that much of a fan of Deal or Deal Deal either, but I think you are being a bit unreasonable there. It was a process of elimination game where cash values of between 1p and £250K got eliminated. After a few eliminations, you got given an offer based on the average of the remaining amounts. The player could either gamble on (eliminate more amounts) or collect the offer. I will give it to Noel that he created good suspense in the game, and I can't think of any other game show format that is similar to Deal. And it's popular enough that other countries around the glove have their own versions of Deal.

As for programmes that do (or did) my head in, probably Noel's House Party! Always found that a bit silly, but again Noel has always been a great presenter. He's good at what he does.

Blacktothepink · 27/03/2021 21:16

I can’t stand game shows so don’t watch them...they seriously make me cringe 😬

👆🏼 This. Is the show called "The Warwl"? No. 😤
Shnuffles · 27/03/2021 21:43

The one or two times I've happened to catch part of "The Wall", it felt that it was too drawn-out, which is annoying, and all the talking can be cringe-worthy, too. I prefer games where there's not too much idle chit-chat.

DH could never stand "Deal or No Deal", particularly the way players would act like there was something more than blind luck at play. Like there was any way to possibly know which case they should select.

Yes, that’s what kills me. He says ‘Waw’.
dontsaveusername · 28/03/2021 10:15

Fucking pointless.

mrsjoyfulprizeforraffiawork · 28/03/2021 10:21

Never watched it but, in D Dyer's defence, he is a cockney and that is how they pronounce the word Wall. I thought regional accents were never criticised on telly and radio in these pc times.

CuthbertDibbleandGrubb · 28/03/2021 10:23

I seem to have made a good decision to avoid it then.

The Wall to me is a Pink Floyd album with the film directed by Alan Parker.

FoonySpucker · 28/03/2021 12:16

@dontsaveusername

Fucking pointless.
Pointless is on straight afterwards Grin
Tootsey11 · 28/03/2021 12:38

Am I the only one who likes it and Danny Dyer. Saturday night telly, I must be easily pleased.

FoonySpucker · 28/03/2021 13:45

@Tootsey11

Not just you.
We love The Wall and I think Danny Dyer is brilliant in it.
