I just hope that ALL the women of Scotland remember that, even though he was not convicted of the sexual assault charges, he DID have to apologise for ‘inappropriate behaviour’ - and ask themselves if they want to vote for someone whose behaviour is bad enough to warrant such an apology.

I cannot see how any decent person can vote for him.

One of the charges was a "not proven". So while he wasn't convicted the jury did not believe he was innocent.

It never fails to surprise me who some people are willing to vote for, but I agree - no decent person will vote for him.

As for the ‘splitting the vote’ thing - numbers of SNP members of either parliament won’t affect the chances of a referendum in themselves. Any Independence party would have the same impact

If he only goes for list votes, the SNP take the constituency vote and the Alba party take the list, increasing the pro-independence parties overall.

Alba is the name used in modern Scottish Gaelic for Scotland.

It's not pro-Unionist at all. It may give some people who dislike the SNP for one of many possible reasons a way of expressing support for independence.

Whilst I would not use the c word to describe anyone, I share the dislike of Alex Salmond. Pompous is the thought I have.
