Toilet Roll Trauma!!

AvocadoHo · 23/03/2021 22:11

Light hearted!!!!

So, myself and DH have lived together for 3 years.

Literally, every time one of us go to the toilet we turn the toilet roll around to the way we think it should sit on the holder.

He believes in over, whereas I'm an under girl!

This has been a silent war as we never mention it to each other but I turn the toilet roll at 3/5 times a day! It doesn't annoy me overly but now it's a matter of pride, I can't let it slip!🙈😂

Does anyone else have a silly or pointless silent battle within their house or is it just mine?

You are wrong. Leave it the correct way.

dementedpixie · 23/03/2021 22:13

Over is correct so yabu

TheDogsMother · 23/03/2021 22:14

I'm really sorry but re the toilet roll you are wrong and your DP is right Grin. Loading the dishwasher and emptying the recycling is a battleground here.

Idontgiveagriffindamn · 23/03/2021 22:14

@SarahBellam

You are wrong. Leave it the correct way.
This!!!
DoggyDoolittle · 23/03/2021 22:14

I've worked in five-star hotels and it's always over.

FOJN · 23/03/2021 22:14

I live alone, so no but I thought you'd appreciate me dropping in to tell you you are wrong about the look roll. Grin

mineofuselessinformation · 23/03/2021 22:15

Get two toilet roll holders side by side - that way you'll both be happy.

LaganinaBubble · 23/03/2021 22:15

You're wrong, he's right. Save yourself all that time and leave it over Grin

Idontgiveagriffindamn · 23/03/2021 22:15

Oh and to answer your questions no arguments over silly things as my DH knows I’m always right. I’m sure he argues with me in his head though

FlyingByTheSeatof · 23/03/2021 22:15

You are wrong DP is right get over it Grin

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 23/03/2021 22:16

Its always over in this house

But everytime mil came she’d swap it...we all miss her

curiouscat1987 · 23/03/2021 22:16

The original patent for toilet roll shows it as over...definitive proof! :d

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 23/03/2021 22:17

Of course it should be over.
But if it makes you so unhappy, his and hers toilet roll holders?
Or a vertical one?

Toilet Roll Trauma!!
MsOgyny · 23/03/2021 22:17

I put it on specifically to be "over". My husband doesn't care which way it is, so if he ever changes the roll he just shoves it on any old way. This works out to be "under" 99% of the time, which is not in line with what I'd statistically expect, so from this I have concluded he does it to piss me off. He doesn't change them back once I've corrected them though...

Tinydinosaur · 23/03/2021 22:18

Over is the correct way. Easier to grab the end when it's away from the wall.

JustDespair · 23/03/2021 22:19

Always over. Anything else is unacceptable and grounds for divorce.

thistimelastweek · 23/03/2021 22:20

We used to play a silly game with a garden ornament. Move it around to daft places when the other wasn't looking.

Thing is one of us found the perfect spot. God knows where it is. We've been looking for years.

Stichintime · 23/03/2021 22:21

I swap to under every now again for a bit of variety, but generally over. I usually change it so I get to choose.

vodkaredbullgirl · 23/03/2021 22:21

Over, my dds piss me off when they put it the other way Smile

Barton10 · 23/03/2021 22:27

I’m with you OP definitely under!

Kleptronic · 23/03/2021 22:27

You get more greasy fingerprints on the wall with it under.

ThatsNotTheTeaHunty · 23/03/2021 22:29

Oh no its definitely over.

AvocadoHo · 23/03/2021 22:30

@Barton10

I’m with you OP definitely under!
It's such a relief to know I'm not alone! 😂

Haha this reminded me of a recent silent war with my husband. I thought the food scrap bin (with lid so no smells) should live on the kitchen counter so that we remember to use it and empty it. He thinks it should be out of sight under the sink. Every morning I would put it out, every night he would put it away again.

Aprilx · 24/03/2021 09:20

To your question, no nothing springs to mind.

To your example, you should concede this one, you are 100% wrong, you would never find toilet roll “under” in a hotel or other public establishment where they know what they are doing.
