To think he used Kik for sexting?

My ex had Kik on his phone. I thought it was like WhatsApp. He had a very high sex drive but we went months without sex at the end of our relationship. I looked up Kik and it’s listed with lots of hookup sites. Is this why he would have it or am I paranoid? And yes I do want to know now even now it’s over it does matter to me to know.

Kik is an app that you can use to message people if you don't want to give them your phone number. So in that way it's different to WhatsApp.

I have Kik, I’ve never sexted on it. I’m sure it does happen but if he was going to sex he wouldn’t need to specifically download kik to do so.

IMO Kik is for exactly that.
I downloaded it years ago and deleted it straight away even then when I realised what it was being used for.

I used it when I was online dating before I trusted someone enough to give them my number, just in case they turned out to be a weirdo.

Well mine was a non sex related reason - I just didn't want potential weirdo men to have my number. But from the perspective of a man in a relationship using it - god knows. Doesn't look great though.

Kik is mostly used for that I think. For no sexual purposes it could be used for I use it for keeping in contact with people on an online game I don't want to have my number

There are groups on there about literally every topic you could imagine. He could be using those for gaming, in theory, but it's definitely popular with cheats. Ask him what it is and see if he panics.

I’ve only ever known it for sex hook ups/chat. It’s the go-to messaging app once you are arranging to meet/sext after meeting on a hook up site like Fab Swingers etc.

Lots of games you say. Husband and I used kik to talk to and organise things with our gaming friends, as in people we didn't know in real life and therefore didn't want to add to WhatsApp. It was something we could share with any new people we met that we decided we wanted to play more with.

I can't speak for your ex of course, but for us it was the most boring shit ever, as in " we still on for a game at 9 pm tonight? Oh you'll be late, means I have less of a panic to get dinner sorted, see you at 9.30 instead then". Made life so much easier and stopped any annoyance when you log on to find they haven't showed on time even though you had a mad panic to be on time for them.

I think it’s the main reason people use it frankly.

I had it back in 2012. I was 15 and inundated with unsolicited dick pics from randoms. That’s the culture. It’s quite seedy.

It’s like the western union of messaging apps.

Discord is shite and I still won't use it if it can be avoided. KIK has been around for years longer than Telegram has. Hadn't heard of Signal until Trump supporters got on there to spread their hate and it got on the news.

Or maybe we were all just pervs, with a nice kink for big group events where we killed big ogres as foreplayWink

Maybe kik could be used for work? it’s an old app, my friends and i used it back in 2011ish when we were too young to have phones to text on, but i deleted it a few years later because there was a massive issue with groomers on the app :/

Kik is NOT used for any work other than potentially by some sex workers. Jeez people. Please.

When I was single and online dating most guys who wanted to chat offline suggested WhatsApp.
EVERYTIME a guy suggested KIK there was something dodgy (usually married or fake online account). It became so much of a red flag for me that anyone even asking to chat on KIK was unmatched!
