What normal things are you longing for again?

What normal, perhaps even mundane, events are you longing to participate in when lockdown is over?

I have a young baby so there’s loads of stuff I’ve missed - meeting friends and family, baby groups, antenatal classes etc - but the thing I’m honestly most looking forward to is just going to cafes. Sitting somewhere totally normal for a cup of tea and a slice of cake, chatting with my mum or a friend.

What previously completely normal event is everyone else excited for?

Pub with a mate😫
Our favourite one doesn't have outside space so we will be waiting bit longer than some others

Catslovepies · 03/03/2021 18:51

Going to the greengrocer to pick out my own fruit and veg (we are shielding and just get what's delivered).

Swimming lessons. I hate watching swimming lessons. Its hot, it smells, it's noisy...
But I can't wait to take my children again.

actiongirl1978 · 03/03/2021 18:53

I want to go into my child's school again, to be able to chat to the ladies in the office, say hi to his teachers every morning, to go to his assemblies and his year six leaving events.

Shoxfordian · 03/03/2021 18:54

Pubs, going out for dinner, not wearing a mask

AnyFucker · 03/03/2021 18:54

I don’t know. I have forgotten. Sad

ThreeKneeRepeater · 03/03/2021 18:55

Going back to my choir.
I hadn’t long joined, and it took a lot of courage to go for the first time. But I was getting to know the other members and was enjoying it so much.

I can’t wait for a weekend away! Anywhere! The local premier inn will even do me at this point!

Galleries - I already have tickets for the Hockney exhibition booked, and hawkishly watching other gallery sites for when their booking systems open.

Last summer when things first started opening up, July maybe, a friend and I went to the National Gallery for the afternoon, just to see the collection, not an exhibition, and then went for cocktails.
Still in my mind as one of the best afternoons ever!

Toddlerteaplease · 03/03/2021 18:58

The word "shielding" being bannished from use ever again.

flakymate · 03/03/2021 19:05

Miss my friends immensely! Can’t wait to go clubbing or on a messy girl’s holiday even though I’m not a party girl

I miss nights out in general actually. Can’t wait to eat good food at lovely restaurants again and have a proper date night. Go to concerts again, spontaneous travelling, just generally really enjoying life again

NoJetter · 03/03/2021 19:07
