Holly Willoughby's Hair

AIBU to wonder if her husband cuts her hair and she's dyed it with the home hair dye she advertises? (It is cut in a very straight line and one length so possible to do at home?)

OR to wonder if is she having secret help? Not a split end or a root in sight, unlike moi! Hmm

Or a wig?

MissBaskinIfYoureNasty · 23/02/2021 09:40

I always think it looks like she's done it herself tbh. I can't understand a qualified hairdresser leaving it cut so bluntly and such a yellowy colour.

HelenDrinkwater · 23/02/2021 09:41

I assumed it was a wig

winnieee · 23/02/2021 09:43

She thanks her glam team on her Instagram stories regularly so I assume it will have been her hair stylist. She did get some backlash for that a few weeks back though so maybe she keeps it a bit more quiet now

JillsFlapjacks · 23/02/2021 09:50

Her hair often looks quite yellow toned at the roots to me. In the first lockdown she put a video on Instagram of herself using a home dye.

SugarfreeBlitz · 23/02/2021 09:51

Yes it is a blunt cut and rather yellow. It doesn't look very professionally done, but perhaps that's the idea as she promotes home hair dye. Am thinking of getting my DS to give me the same haircut. So many split ends!

JillsFlapjacks · 23/02/2021 09:53

I'm growing out a pixie cut, so I've had to resort to trimming the resulting mullet this lockdown 🤣 Thankfully it's now long enough to tie up and put into a bun!

stayathomer · 23/02/2021 09:54

My mil cuts my sil's hair and she looks like she's out from a salon, same with my friend who gave in and got her dh to help. I chanced it and came out looking like worzel gummage!! Some people are lucky or possibly she has a hair stylist at the studios? Doesn't really matter does it?

Givemethechocolate · 23/02/2021 09:54

Why does it matter to you? I'm sure you wouldn't want people discussing if your hair looked yellow

ExcusesAndAccusations · 23/02/2021 10:00

To be fair Holly Willoughby literally makes her living by looking pretty (in addition to her real but not exceptional skills as a live TV presenter). And she sells hair dye on the explicit premise that Holly’s hair is lovely and if you buy this hair dye you can get hair like hers.

That doesn’t mean that she’s fair game for all sorts of bitchy or leery comments on her appearance but it does mean that a bit of speculation about what she does with her hair is completely reasonable.

Palavah · 23/02/2021 10:02

She'll have a stylist do it, surely?

Because I bought a box of hair dye and am debating whether to use it (my roots are awful) or whether to be patient and wait for things to open up. Also, I have really split ends so any cut is kind of tempting.

Drivingmecrazy2021 · 23/02/2021 10:06

I can confirm her hair is mainly done by a stylist 😅 I work very closely with this person.
Whether recently she has done it her self I don’t know.

luxxlisbon · 23/02/2021 10:08

Hairdressers were open for haircuts like 2 months ago in many places. Women’s hair doesn’t look that different cut wise after such a short amount of time.

Obviously at bare minimum it is styled for shows as media and film are allowed to have hair and makeup during lockdown.

SugarfreeBlitz · 23/02/2021 10:08

To be clear, I'm not bashing Holly, but curious. As someone with terrible hair (think overgrown roots and split ends!), I see someone on TV with freshly cut and colored hair and then can't help but wonder if I should try to replicate it or just wait.

Yes but I didn't go then because I couldn't get childcare. So it IS dire, believe me! Grin

You could ask that question about 50 percent of the threads started on Mumsnet - why are you on here if questions like this bother you so much?!
Drivingmecrazy2021 · 23/02/2021 10:11

@luxxlisbon you are correct we are now allowed to resume working ( first wave was slightly different. However for shoes like this morning usually isn’t really a place a hair cut would take place it’s very different than styling a actor in a movie for instance who may need a certain hair cut that is designed for a character.
Mainly for the hosts, I mean currently I shops they could request a cut it’s not more a style over rather than a cut and hair dye.

Drivingmecrazy2021 · 23/02/2021 10:13

Shows not shoes.

For example if I was standing in did the this morning crew, I wouldn’t ordinarily expect to be cutting or colouring their hair but may style it.

FredSoftly · 23/02/2021 10:13

It's perfectly clear you're not bashing HW, OP. Just having a nice chat on a chat forum.

DinoDisco · 23/02/2021 10:14

I assumes she gets it cut in the studio alongside hair and make up etc.

CSIblonde · 23/02/2021 10:14

Holly's looking more ash today than yellow! There's a dye masterclass on This Morning in 10mins ...I'll be watching as I bought Clairol medium blonde: & it's turned out strawberry blonde ( my teens colour , i hated) . And I've just remembered my first hilights ,in the 80's, my salon used Clairol Baby blonde. Should have bought that.

SugarfreeBlitz · 23/02/2021 10:15

Thanks FredSoftly Grin It was not me who said the yellow word. I admire HW's well put together look and wish I could have a makeover!

I'm not "bitching". Just not keen on her colour, I think we're allowed to say that. I like her cut, though. I'd like a blunt cut myself once I'm past the "Achy Breaky Heart" stage of growth.
