How do I email my bank statement when it won't let me take a screenshot?!! Help!!!!

I need to send my bank statement to someone via email. I have no clue how to do this apart from taking a screen shot of my online banking but I can't do that because its a security risk. I'm clearly missing something obvious but I can't think

any ideas?
tia!!!

Can you use Snipping Tool?

PLAYJAJADINGDONG · 22/02/2021 12:01

Download it as a PDF in the banking app.

Forward as an attachment.

grannyinapram · 22/02/2021 12:02

Take a photo with another phone or tablet.

BaronessBomburst · 22/02/2021 12:02

You should have an option to download the bank statement too.

gillybean2 · 22/02/2021 12:02

Usually there’s an option to download it. Look carefully, it’s not always obvious how to do it

Anothermuddywalk · 22/02/2021 12:02

Can you download it? With my bank I can download my statements as PDFs, so could then email the PDF.

grannyinapram · 22/02/2021 12:02

okay I will try that, thank you so much!
(can I do that on my phone? no computer)

What do you mean, it won't let you take a screenshot? There's no more security risk in sending someone a screenshot than any other way of emailing a bank statement

BriefCrow · 22/02/2021 12:03

Log in on a PC and field y the PDF?

Exhausteddog · 22/02/2021 12:07

I tried taking a screen shot of mine the other day and I couldnt

Wilkolampshade · 22/02/2021 12:11

@Clymene risky or not, the HSBC app won't screenshot...don't know about others..

OP have resorted to photo with other device when needed to. Ridiculous I know.

Russell19 · 22/02/2021 12:13

You can do it on your phone but you may have to do it through the browser and click desktop version instead of through the app. It should have each months statements that you can download then email as an attachment.

Bramshott · 22/02/2021 12:17

Can you log in on a computer rather than via your bank's app? I can do simple things on the app on my phone, but some others, like downloading statements, I can only do on the computer.

CeibaTree · 22/02/2021 12:20

What computer are you using? You can use the snipping tool on most computers - I've managed to take screen shots of bank and credit card statements in the past - what do you mean it won't let you?
If all else fails, just take a photo of your screen on your phone?

Hoppinggreen · 22/02/2021 12:22

On my iPad I can screenshot from my account, which is handy because I can’t download

3AndStopping · 22/02/2021 12:22

Download PDF. Don’t know who you bank with but mine won’t let me download it on the app so I have to go onto the desktop site.

Google how to download PDF statement online from X bank.

That's so weird - I have a personal account with First Direct (which is owned by HSBC) and a business account with HSBC. I can take screenshots of both accounts.

TheLaughingGenome · 22/02/2021 12:24

Yes, do the PDF thing.

WatchWatch · 22/02/2021 12:27

Can you try not using the app, but logging in on the website (using internet on your phone). Then download the statement and email it.

I can screenshot using the HSBC app - not sure why it wouldn’t be possible

Disfordarkchocolate · 22/02/2021 12:39

My phone and laptop won't let me do this. I can download statements on my laptop though.

namechange30455 · 22/02/2021 12:39

www.hsbc.co.uk/help/banking-made-easy/online-statements/

This says you should be able to download your statement on the mobile app

namechange30455 · 22/02/2021 12:41

Oops sorry OP for some reason i thought it was you that banked with Hsbc but it was a different poster.

BeakyWinder · 22/02/2021 12:43

I can't screenshot on my halifax bank app either, it does say it's due to security.
