I need to send my bank statement to someone via email. I have no clue how to do this apart from taking a screen shot of my online banking but I can't do that because its a security risk. I'm clearly missing something obvious but I can't think

any ideas?

I can screenshot using the HSBC app - not sure why it wouldn’t be possible

I'm very surprised. I have 4 different banking apps on my phone, and none allow screenshots - it disables the facility on the phone when the app is in use and if you try brings up a message saying "screenshot function is disabled" as soon as I close the app I can screenshot again.

For security reasons there is a download as pdf system in online banking. Somewhere on the screen there will be a button with instructions.

FuckyouCovid21 · 22/02/2021 12:46

just checked here and I can also screenshot from all 3 of my HSBC accounts - maybe it's a phone security thing?

LunaHeather · 22/02/2021 12:48

Sorry if being thick but is it okay to send a bank statement via email?

Doingtheboxerbeat · 22/02/2021 12:49

I had this exact problem, I was being helped by a very tech savvy colleague and she couldn't figure it out. So I called my bank and she says it doesn't work on the app Hmm. In the end my colleague took a picture with her phone.

AnyFucker · 22/02/2021 12:54

Can you print it, then if you have an I phone use the scanning option ?

Are you on Android?
TippledPink · 22/02/2021 13:04

I think the issue is between I phones and Androids, some allow screenshots and others don't.

DavidsSchitt · 22/02/2021 13:08

I can screenshot mine too. Just tried it

emilyfrost · 22/02/2021 13:09

Just download your statement and send it that way.

Rhubarbcrumblerules · 22/02/2021 13:16

Which bank? Tou may need to login to website rather than use the app, then as previous posters have said, should be able to download statement to pdf, save it to your device, then email.

gummygator · 22/02/2021 13:16

Different banking apps will allow different things. I have 2 accounts, 1 will allow me to download the other won't.
As previous posters have said log in using a pc/laptop and get the document that way or try through your mobile browser not the app. its unlikely that even speaking to customer service would help as they probably won't have means of emailing to customers.

Purpleneonpinkunicorns · 22/02/2021 13:19

I can screen shot my banking via the website but not the app but I'm with lloyds.

grannyinapram · 22/02/2021 13:56

managed to download the pdf and sent it that way, the app kept locking when I tried to download it with 'technical difficulties' but all done and dusted.
thank you everyone for your help (I would never have guessed pdf whatever that is)

Sign in on laptop as opposed to phone. You can then download statement as a PDF, attach it to an email then it's done

DeeCeeCherry · 22/02/2021 14:54

Sorry, typed reply then realised you've already worked it out. That's good
