DH and I have fallen on some bad Financial Times recently due to a very sick DS. We need home renovations to assist DS which we cannot afford. This week a charity contacted me and will help with the funding. Their offer is both unexpected and incredibly generous.
I know that most give to charities such as this and I wanted to share how life changing this is for us.
We cannot remortgage as DS needs 24 hour care and I had to leave my well paid job. DH lost his well paid job due to Covid and took a lesser paying one to keep us afloat. We cannot get a loan as we only have one real income - I get carers payment but we cannot afford loan repayments,
These renovations mean that DS can use his wheelchair at home. He will be independent as much as possible. I can get nursing and carers to help with his care when he has his own room & bathroom downstairs. We can get a hoist which will stop my constant back ache.
I feel like a huge weight has been lifted. Our home will no longer be like a prison for us.
Thank you. DS will never be cured or healthy enough for me to work in his lifetime but I promise when I can I will repay this donation in whatever way that I can.
Do you have good news to share?
