Logic Puzzle monthly book

This is driving me mad!!! About 6 years ago, I used to buy a logic puzzle book every month and the puzzles were really tricky, which is why I liked them. It is definitely not Logic Problems by Puzzler. I used to buy it in WH Smith but haven't seen it for years now.
The book was about A5 in size and I *think it had a picture of a head on the front, but I might be wrong with this. Does anyone PLEASE know what this was called as I would love to find it again. Please put me out of my misery!

I know exactly what you mean, I used to love this. Just googled and came across the same one that you say it isn’t but I couldn’t tell you what it is!

It was definitely called logic problems

Lex345 · 17/02/2021 20:28

Glad someone else remembers this! I don't mind the puzzler one but this one was harder. I have looked on ebay, amazon and google to no avail. I was beginning to think I dreamt it!

Shame they don't make them any more Sad

logic.puzzlebaron.com

Free and you can select difficulty level.

QueenOfCatan · 17/02/2021 20:31

I used to love them too! A colleague and I were talking about them recently and neither of us have seen them in ages, I have an app for them and it's good but not the same as actually doing it on pen and paper

prettygirlincrimsonrose · 17/02/2021 20:31

This was definitely a thing, would love to find it again. They had some standard logic puzzles and some really good tricky ones (do you remember the six families where you had to figure out the names of the father, mother, daughter and son, done as a rhyme where nobody was speaking to a member of their own family? e.g. John said to Billy 'Your sister is Millie')

QueenOfCatan · 17/02/2021 20:32

The app I have is by the people advice has linked to!

TryingNotToPanicOverCovid · 17/02/2021 20:35

I used to love that book!

I've found beyond soduko a good book with a selection of logic style puzzles in.

prettygirlincrimsonrose · 17/02/2021 20:35

@nonetooshoddy I remember those, but there was another one as well that I preferred. I think just the title and picture of a grid on the cover. Anyone remember that? (or know if it's still available)

IdesMarchof · 17/02/2021 20:36

Ooh I want this too

SingToTheSky · 17/02/2021 20:36

I believe they are sometimes called penny dell logic problems? There are a few apps for them too but one of them was rubbish with more than one possible solution.

I need to get a book of these now :o might get me off screens a bit 😳

SingToTheSky · 17/02/2021 20:37

Trying I absolutely love Beyond Sudoku magazine. It’s a great selection.

Lex345 · 17/02/2021 20:38

I will give the app a try thank you, I do like working them out on paper though, what a shame they don't make them now. The book looks different to how I remember it, how funny the mind changes things. I would happily buy back issues of them.

Was it logical challenge? My mum loved these when I was growing up, I loved Kriss Kross in them so she bought the mixed one and bought me kriss kross

Lex345 · 17/02/2021 20:43

@DwangelaForever I LOVE YOU!!!!!!! YES it was that one!

Yayy glad to have helped Grin

RustyBear · 17/02/2021 20:50

Do you mean Logic Problems by Alan Duncum and Roger Burden?I have a whole pile of these half completed - one day I'll get round to finishing them, but I mostly do them via apps these days.
Some of them do have puzzler.co.uk on the cover - I'm not sure whether that was actually the same as puzzler.com - it now redirects to puzzler.com - it's possible that Puzzler.com took them over

Ooh I liked all these.

RustyBear · 17/02/2021 20:56

I always preferred this type to the grid type of puzzle, so I used to go through the books and do all these first.

prettygirlincrimsonrose · 17/02/2021 20:58

@Lex345 That was the one I was thinking of, such a good magazine (how did you find the picture btw? I've been googling and couldn't get it)

RustyBear · 17/02/2021 20:58

Oh, just seen your update - I have a few of the Logical Challenge ones too, but they never seemed to be around in our WHS - maybe they got snapped up early by eager puzzlers!

SingToTheSky · 17/02/2021 21:01

I’m definitely going to look next time I need to go to WHsmiths. We have a fairly big one with an entire vertical module just for stuff like Hanjie, separate from the other puzzle mags. So hopefully there will be something.

Lex345 · 17/02/2021 21:07

@prettygirlincrimsonrose by pure fluke I google searched logical challenge and it came up on images! Shame I cannot find the publisher :(
