What sadistic twat makes an aniseed gaviscon???

Just the title really. What total a-hole makes an aniseed gaviscon?!?! It’s like doing a shot of sambuca!

Currently 32+4 preggers and hubby picked up the wrong one 😭

No AIBU I guess, unless I’m unreasonable for hating aniseed 🤢🤢🤢

You are so far from unreasonable! Vile stuff. I'm always miffed at the supermarket own brand versions as well; only ever seem to see them doing aniseed flavour. If they made their own brand in mint flavour, I'd snap it up. But alas!

The doctor prescribed an unbranded Gaviscon-a-like medicine and it was aniseed 🤢. I am not fussy at all but I hate aniseed. I took it back to the pharmacy, played the pregnancy card and they swapped it for the mint one. I was literally swigging it from the bottle so no way could I have stomached it. That's a long way of saying YANBU.

Not really relevant but did you know you can get it free on prescription as you're pregnant?

Whatever one I had when I was pregnant with DS was fine, not really a taste at all - I’ve not heard good things about the mint one either 😭

Not pregnant but have reflux. I can't stand aniseed in anything and the Gaviscon went down the sink when I bought the wrong one. I actually quite like the mint one!

I loved the aniseed ones and I had to drink gallons of the stuff.

Now I know why my preferred flavour was never out of stock!

I could go a gaviscon now 😂 or a pernod & black

As pp have said there is also a mint flavor, also gaviscon do tablets like rennie too.
I assume its that flavour as fennel is used to treat heartburn, as is peppermint but I think both are ghastly, at least the peppermint doesn't make me gag but like drinking thick toothpaste

Deffinatly speak to your doctor, I was prescribed mint gaviscon and omeprazole tablets while pregnant very easily and safely (turns out my problem wasn't heartburn but thats a whole thread in itself!!)
