If you're a dog owner

Who doesn't pick up poo can you tell me why?

I'm so fecked off with having to push my kids out of the way of yet another dog mess that hasn't been cleaned up. It's like an assault course. Today Ds fell off his sledge into a pile of dog crap.

Fgs if you have a dog clean up it's shit, please!

OP posts:
Godimabitch · 09/02/2021 20:35

It's the same people that throw their rubbish on the floor or leave their McDonalds wrappers on the table.
Someone elses problem.

1Morewineplease · 09/02/2021 20:41

I'm also fed up with empty or even partially eaten packs of crisps , sandwiches, chips etc... that are casually discarded along a lovely river walk near my house that my greedy dogs keeps finding and snaffling. Not to mention the casually fly-tipped black sacks.
As op says... it's someone else's problem.

Suzi888 · 09/02/2021 20:43

Because people are lazy, selfish buggers that’s why.

VelveteenChair · 09/02/2021 20:46

And if they do pick up the poo and out it in a bag, then they leave it on a fecking tree.

Babyroobs · 09/02/2021 20:49

@VelveteenChair

And if they do pick up the poo and out it in a bag, then they leave it on a fecking tree.
Hate seeing this, just why do people do that ? I think they intend to pick it up on the way back but then forget or take a different route !!
TheVolturi · 09/02/2021 20:52

No one will admit to it. It drives me mad, the dog mess right next to our school is so excessive it must be on purpose!
Caught a woman on our security camera right outside our house at the end of our drive watching her dog poo, she looked around to make sure no one had seen then walked off. I put a screenshot on social media because I was so mad and the majority of people commented that I was a total saddo to be so bothered and I was out of order to post the photo!

Coulddowithanap · 09/02/2021 20:53

It's disgusting isn't it. DH is in a wheelchair and we've lost count of the number of times he's gone through dog poo on the pavement and ended up with it on his hands Angry

MissBaskinIfYoureNasty · 09/02/2021 20:54

Laziness.

tenbananasaday · 09/02/2021 20:54

-laziness/ just not caring
-gross factor (wanting a dog but not wanting the negatives that go with it)
-forgot to bring a bag
-didn't see the dog go as not paying attention to the dog
-no bins and don't want to walk for miles with a pocket full of shite
-dog had explosive diarrhoea making it very hard to pick up.
-thinking they do not have to pick it up as dog pooped off the path. For example, in the woods or something and the dog goes off the path. I've seen people just kick earth over the poop in our local country park

And before anyone starts.... yes I do pick up my dog's poop. But there you have it, the most common reasons.

pumpkinbump · 09/02/2021 20:55

I'm a dog owner and it drives me mad. It's so absolutely disgusting to leave it on the pavements and worst of all near children's play areas.

Somanysplitends · 09/02/2021 20:58

I don't think anyone is going to admit to doing it habitually. I have a dog and the other day he completely out of the blue had a bout of diarrhea. It was unpickupable, all I succeeded in was wiping it further on the pavement. I went home and got a bottle of water to clear it but obviously people will have come across it in between times.

Heyta · 09/02/2021 21:01

This has been done a million times. Like in all of life there are some lazy shits who don’t care.

TheChip · 09/02/2021 21:01

Its just laziness. I'm a dog owner and it does my absolute head in the amount of shit I see when walking my dogs.

The worst are the ones in the bags and just thrown on the ground or into trees. It would be far better to have just left the shit!

Alienchannell21 · 09/02/2021 21:01

I'm a dog owner and it makes me angry, I'm often pulling my dog away or reminding dc to step over it. I live in a pretty nice area and I often wonder who the dog owners are that can't be arsed to pick it up.

Pippa234 · 09/02/2021 21:03

I wonder who they are, they are probably the same dirty, lazy, scummy people who throw rubbish out of their car window.

scentedgeranium · 09/02/2021 21:05

You'll never get the f@ckers to fess up. I'm a dog owner who is fanatical about picking up and fanatical about being seen to ge picking up - my theory is the more dog owners see otjer dog owners swinging a little black or green bag, the more they themselves will he positively influenced.

pumpkinbump · 09/02/2021 21:07

To be fair, with a very runny poo, there isn't much you can really do when it's like water. No excuse for leaving solid piles around. And in all honesty, it's not even yukky to pick up! Takes two seconds unless it's blowing a gale.

DinosaurDiana · 09/02/2021 21:08

I always pick up mine, and I’m disgusted at the amount left on pavements.
It’s definitely increased in lock down. I assume that those dogs that are usually at home alone all day are now getting out.

Lostinspace23 · 09/02/2021 21:09

I just don’t get it. I have a dog and would never just leave a turd on the pavement. Always pick up, always have poo bags on me. Some people are lazy, selfish, disgusting bastards.

It seems have gotten significantly worse since all the lockdowns started.

EcoCustard · 09/02/2021 21:15

I have 2dogs and 4dc and also sick of other peoples dog crap everywhere. I am scrupulous about picking it up and have challenged a few offenders in my time. Usual excuse is no bags, then when offered one they begrudgingly do so. Where we live some think it’s rural so it doesn’t matter. One of footpaths is popular so dark evenings in winter the dog mess worsens as no one can take a torch and pick it up in the dark. One person Dh challenged a few weeks ago said she wasn’t able to bend down to pick it up, right on the footpath 25m from the village school.

I have taken to spraying the crap with bio tree paint to highlight the problem which has improved things slightly. Shame the filthy irresponsible owners!

Oregano20 · 09/02/2021 21:17

@Coulddowithanap that is heartbreaking

I would actually love someone to do a NC and fess up, I cannot fathom what these people are thinking. Do they know they're scum, for example?

trilbydoll · 09/02/2021 21:18

There is always dog shit on the corner between our house and school. Always, it's like it's an acceptable place to leave it. I have been fantasising about putting a camera in our neighbours' hedge to catch them in the act!

Awalkintime · 09/02/2021 21:42

I am finding these people are causing an issue for responsible dog owners.

The other week I was shouted at by 2 men who suggested I wasn't going to pick up. They couldn't see a bag in my hand as they had driven up behind me. When I showed them the bag they continued to shout abuse at me to which I responded with choice words. They then drove their car at me at speed.

FrankButchersDickieBow · 09/02/2021 21:47

Yanbu OP. It's gross. I'm a dog owner and I find it foul (scuze the pun).

I can't comprehend how someone would watch their dog have a shit and then just carry on merrily on their walk.

Selfish pricks.

Gives us responsible dog owners a bad name!

Taylrse · 09/02/2021 21:53

It's the poo being left in bags and dumped which really pisses me off.
Last month someone actually left a dog poo bag on my front wall that I had to put in the bin.
I think it is pure laziness and maybe people who are not the brightest sparks.

On a similar note, I saw a lady smoking next to a bin the other day and then once finished, she threw it on to the floor rather than stub it out and put it in to the bin.
