I want to start this post by saying I'm not generally a 'woo' person. I'm not talking about ghosts or implying that the furniture is haunted but I am wondering about bad energy. I've NC because I expect to be torn a new one Grin

Just over 2 weeks ago I bought a pre owned wardrobe on the Facebook market place. It's quite old.

Probably irrelevant but the people who delivered it were quite strange folk, the sort you get an uneasy feeling from. It was a very awkward handover.

Well ever since I got this wardrobe in the bedroom I've been plagued with disturbing nightmares every.single.night without fail.

My toddler DD who also sleeps in my room has been saying she is "scared" in the night now, she has never done that before. She doesn't know about my nightmares and has no reason to be so unsettled all of a sudden.

My mood has been quite low for the same amount of time with no particular cause identifiable, I'm finding myself feeling uncharacteristically short tempered and down.

AIBU to think all of the above may be linked to the wardrobe/bad energy.

Bonkers or possible?!

Goodness, I would be getting rid!

Blue January. Haunted Wardrode February.

What is March? I need to make sure my chakras are aligned in plenty of time. Thanks!

IAcceptCookies · 09/02/2021 15:03

I wonder if sage sales have had a boost because of this thread!
Wardrobe sales, however, will not have fared so well.

March? AKA The march of the Dressing Table demons....

They’re always a few inches shorter than you’d like...

SummerHouse · 09/02/2021 16:50

...it's how you waft them that counts...

I am channelling my inner 12 year-old, who thinks they're always shorter than I'd like..

Watch the conjuring and then come back to me 😂

Biffbaff · 09/02/2021 18:03

@garliczoflora Bravo, your stealth name change and appearance on the thread made me laugh.

Also laughing at the person who mocked the stuffed pheasant story by claiming she'd eaten one... Hope you didn't break a tooth on its glass eye 😂

This thread is hilarious! Well done everyone. OP, I know you can unleash this wardrobe's good vibes. Go for it.

Oh summer, it’s like a seaside slapstick 70s show in here GrinGrin
GarlicZoflora · 09/02/2021 18:27

@Biffbaff I find in times of crisis it’s best to resort to smudged taxidermy. I find the Monty Python approach to pandemics to be the most enlightening. It’s either that or rat on your neighbours for buying milk?

truthisalie · 09/02/2021 23:27

Donoteatthekittens, couldn't even finish reading the article from devonlive as the site has kept crushing Confused

TheSandman · 10/02/2021 13:38

My stick of sage has arrived!

It's alot smaller than I expected, maybe about 4"

Did a man sell it to you?

NeverDropYourMoonCup · 10/02/2021 14:59

Somebody bought an ugly as fuck old wardrobe to sell as they were an antique dealer. Nobody wanted to buy it and at some point, a few things got broken overnight like antique sellers never get rats in their storerooms/barns. Somebody liked it and opened a cat cafe. Amazingly, sometimes cats would sit on the top of the wardrobe. It's now being used for the satanic purposes of storing wellingtons and waterproofs and people still think it's bloody ugly. Except for the owners, who are very very Special and Different and Not Like Everybody Else. Oh, and Aliester Crowley used to live where it was first bought from, so might have made it because he lived in the town when he was a kid. Jimmy Page liked Aliester Crowley. And David Bowie mentioned him in a song.

And, just to thrill and terrify you all some more [holds torch under chin] when the person who bought it in Devon as a house clearance went back to the house, there wasn't a person living there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MWAH-HA-HA-HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [disappears in a puff of sage smudged smoke]

Update:

The nightmares are back 😂

Smudging the room later today.

It's probably all just heightened anxiety what with lockdown and everything else but it has spurred me on to make home improvements so it's not all bad.

Project wardrobe is well under way, I just need to give it a second coat and order some new knobs.

I've got the bug for it now and I'm going to do my dressing table and bedside cabinet too.

I'll upload a photo as promised for those who want to see.

Of course we want to see!

Sorry about the nightmares. I’m sure we’re not helping...

Okokokbear · 11/02/2021 16:48

This is bonkers but I'm invested in the outcome

Onjnmoeiejducwoapy · 11/02/2021 17:17

I am so invested in seeing the wardrobe

AlfonsoTheSensible · 11/02/2021 18:16

Another who wants to see the finished product!

2018SoFarSoGreat · 12/02/2021 07:07

Am excited to see what you end up with. I always wanted to paint the blah pine furniture but it was waxed and I had no clue how to start. How exciting!

covetingthepreciousthings · 19/02/2021 17:23

Just checking your ok OP and haven't been cursed by the wardrobe spirits.. Grin

ItbarelysnowsinLondon · 26/02/2021 11:06
