Sister I am with you. I once bought the books, how fucking dull, so many tiny words per picture meaning it can't be read independently. There is a reason that book was lost in our house, my mental wellbeing. My youngest is 13 and I still remember the horror.

Love the books in my house, although we skip over the parts where naughty boys are thrashed by their parents. The original books were based on some real engines and railways and have quite a lot of details on the trains, in complete contrast to the modern ones which are pretty awful.
