How are all the men getting their haircut still? Everyone looks normal to me whilst my hair is shocking🙂

We all bought clippers last time round! Game changer.

Mine's awful - my appt got cancelled in the Nov lockdown then again in Jan. I'm trying to work up the courage to let my husband lose on it with scissors.

BudgieHammockBananaSmuggler · 24/01/2021 00:35

No they are closed. But lots of blokes have clippers at home and it’s not tricky to do compared to a styled ladies haircut.

Tongtwister · 24/01/2021 00:38

We are all having a go! I bought clippers and scissors, from a distance DH looks OK just don't get too close 😂

19lottie82 · 24/01/2021 00:42

Clippers, or plenty of black market hair cuts going on!

MrsPear · 24/01/2021 00:52

Lots of round the back hair cuts - the majority think they are clever in getting short back and sides thinking they can claim that the missus did it. Or maybe that’s just round here ....

Sparklesocks · 24/01/2021 00:57

They aren’t open, but aside from the home haircuts I’m sure a few barbers are sneakily still working! We had one advertise on a local Facebook group and said he’d come to your home..

Pollypudding · 24/01/2021 01:07

I am cutting my DH and DS’s hair but no way will I let them cut mine! 🙄

Givemeabreak88 · 24/01/2021 01:20

Loads advertising on the local Facebook near me saying they will come to your house to do it

DioneTheDiabolist · 24/01/2021 01:23

Not here. Ds2(3yo) is currently sporting an interesting Covid cut.Blush

AgeLikeWine · 24/01/2021 01:23

Not round here. DP was overdue for a trim before Christmas and now looks like a 70s rock star. I take the piss, of course, but secretly I quite like it! Grin

SquirtleSquad · 24/01/2021 01:28

Just had a quick search on FB market place for "mobile Barber / hairdresser" and about 5 popped up near me. Lots saying "DM me, will travel ££"

notangelinajolie · 24/01/2021 01:39

Clippers.
My DH was quite happy for our DD to have a go and tbh you can't tell the difference. And DH is is chuffed it will save him the cost of a visit to the barbers every few weeks. DD now does her grandpa's hair too - so win win because they both pay her for it.

sunshineandshowers21 · 24/01/2021 05:54

loads of barbers/hairdressers/beauticians still working near me. all still posting pictures and videos on insta with captions claiming they are from before lockdown. the girl over the road from me is a beautician and there’s a steady stream of women walking out with freshly filled lips and waxed eyebrows.

whoamongstus · 24/01/2021 07:07

Loads are still cutting hair on the quiet.

Oysterbabe · 24/01/2021 07:15

Mine needs doing so bad. I look a state.

MargosKaftan · 24/01/2021 07:20

Dh clippered his own hair last night. However no one is going to be mistaking that for a professional job. (Not quite sure why he couldn't just leave it)

Mine is a state.

BarbaraofSeville · 24/01/2021 07:33

Maybe people are reading the first half of the guidance that says if you cannot work from home, you are allowed to go to work, including in people's homes but not getting as far as the part that lists the businesses that must close, which says 'personal care facilities such as hair, beauty, tanning and nail salons. Tattoo parlours, spas, massage parlours, body and skin piercing services must also close. These services should not be provided in other people’s homes' which clearly means that hairdressers and barbers cannot work.

But lots of men will be using clippers, so maybe not as much illegal hair cutting as may appear.

NoWordForFluffy · 24/01/2021 07:36

@whoamongstus

Loads are still cutting hair on the quiet.
It's not even on the quiet if they're advertising on Facebook! 🤦‍♀️
evouk · 24/01/2021 07:39

Some are working from home still. I know somebody who took their dd a few days ago

peak2021 · 24/01/2021 08:19

All our local barbers are shut. I'm sure given some of the awful examples I see that clippers are being used with the assistance of other family members.

If you are on Facebook and see anyone openly advertising or promoting services, then report firstly to Facebook and then the police. I am sure Mark Zuckerberg does not want to be accused of supporting law breaking.

Lovemylittlebear · 24/01/2021 08:24

My DH ha a mop head 😂

Cheesypea · 24/01/2021 08:39

I wonder how all the people on the tele maintain their hair?

LadyfromtheBelleEpoque · 24/01/2021 09:42

Haha!

@Cheesypea

I wonder how all the people on the tele maintain their hair?

That’s what I wondered? Actors who are posting on Instagram (Lucas Bravo I may be looking at your page too much🤣)

Sends out a different message, doesn’t it?

After 10 months of practise, the job I'm doing on dh's hair is starting to not look dreadful.

CakeRequired · 24/01/2021 10:05

I wish they were. My partner resembles a caveman. He won't let me cut it, although I don't really blame him. Grin
