To ask what winds you up even though you know it’s irrational

Lighthearted (I think!)

A few things popped into my head today which irrationally annoy me and I figured I can’t be the only one who gets irrationally angry about stuff like this

Those I can think of now are

  • People who say ‘I don’t drive’ when they actually can’t drive - you wouldn’t say you ‘don’t perform brain surgery’ if you can’t so why is it different with driving
  • People with double barrelled / hyphenated first names, eg, Peggy Sue - I’ve never heard one that doesn’t sound twee and they just make me think of weird American cults
  • people who still have their Christmas trees up

I realise none of these things actually affect me - they just annoy me! 😂

What winds you up?

Inanimate objects that are gendered for no reason other than to increase sales . eg pink tools ‘for women’ , macho packaging on ‘men’s tissues’ , pink or blue changing mats - heaven forfend you might change your kids’ nappies on the wrong colour mat.

Double barrelled first names give me the ick. Mines people touching my stuff unnecessarily. My partner will pick up my hair stuff/nail varnish remover/ face cream, open it and smell it and read the bottle. And I'm just thinking PUT IT DOWN. no idea why it's annoying me so much lately.

People who write in really long sentences instead of breaking things down into smaller sentences

Like you @WayTooSoon ?! 🤣🤣🤣

WayTooSoon · 04/02/2021 08:27
