Tv price gone up!

diamondsr4u · 13/01/2021 21:04

I saw a Samsung tv on John Lewis last night, I wanted to do bit of research before being quick to buy it, with it being night time I thought ill do it tomorrow.
Except tomorrow came and now the price has increased! By a lot!
The website made no mention of yesterday's price being a sale/offer price. Had I known that I would've purchased it and just done my research last night

Why do websites do that for! I looked everywhere else for this same tv and it seems they all have increased. Now I don't want to buy it knowing i could've got it so much more cheaper

Try clearing the cookies on your browser and try again

gamerchick · 13/01/2021 21:08

Yeah sometimes its a cookie thing. They know you're interested so the price goes up if you look again.

snappyoldfartpants · 13/01/2021 21:48

Was just going to say post the link and we can tell you the price we get!

Therealone · 13/01/2021 21:51

Richer sounds are good too if it has gone up.
They have a five year guarantee too, we've used them as well as John Lewis.

diamondsr4u · 13/01/2021 23:12

What's richer sounds? Sorry not familiar

It's this tv Samsung UE55TU7100 (2020) HDR 4K Ultra HD Smart TV, 55 inch

Ao had it same
Price as John Lewis yesterday too, and now it's gone up aswell. John Lewis comes with 5 year guarantee which is why I would've bought it from them

And I don't know if it will go up again as it's the same price on very, but very shows that the original price was £599, I don't know how accurate that is though

MustardMitt · 13/01/2021 23:15

I’m getting £479 as the price everywhere for that one.

pisspants · 13/01/2021 23:19

I'm also seeing it for £479 on John Lewis. Can you go onto private browsing as that doesn't store cookies then you should get the previous price.

ShalomToYouJackie · 13/01/2021 23:22

I'm getting £419 on JL and £479 everywhere else

kizkiz · 13/01/2021 23:32

They often do this to price match another company who have it on offer. The other company ends their offer and jl put theirs back up

NoWordForFluffy · 13/01/2021 23:35

£479 with 6 year guarantee at Richer Sounds.

WoWsers16 · 13/01/2021 23:36

I'm getting £479 xx

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 13/01/2021 23:38

In the news that JL are stopping click and collect on non essential items - are they still delivering?

£429 at argos

PurpleFlower1983 · 13/01/2021 23:40

I’m getting £479. It looks like it has been £419.

Carolofthebellies · 13/01/2021 23:47

Do clean the cookies as it has been suggested by other people. Also don't leave things in the basket as it may also inflate the price.

Carolofthebellies · 13/01/2021 23:49

Most shops show £479 including JL.

Davros · 14/01/2021 00:10

I agree with Richer Sounds, good prices and very good service

FredaFox · 14/01/2021 00:16

479 too

babblingbumblingbandofbaboons · 14/01/2021 00:16

£449 directly from Samsung, and if you know anyone who can access Samsung website via either Reward Gateway or Blue Light Card discount, comes down to around £380-400

www.samsung.com/uk/tvs/uhd-4k-tv/tu7100-55-inch-crystal-uhd-smart-tv-ue55tu7100kxxu/

diamondsr4u · 14/01/2021 11:12

Thank you all!!

Never heard of richer sounds before! Just went on, they don't have it in stock
I know someone with reward gateway, I checked the other night at Samsung and they didn't have it in stock

Am so gutted, really wish jL made it clear that it dropped in price!!

OP posts:
Starisnotanumber · 14/01/2021 11:24

Argos appear to still have it in stock for 429.00.
They do click and collect or delivery

bruffin · 14/01/2021 11:33

Samsung doesnt necessarily come out cheaper on Reward Gateway. It was cheaper for me to buy my phone without going through reward gateway in the end

Lincslady53 · 14/01/2021 15:16

Richer Sounds are excellent. Well trained and we'll looked after staff, good prices, good guarantees. Cambridge Audio products are owned by them, and whilst they might not be the most fashionable in looks, they are good quality. I got some of their wireless ear buds for Xmas and an very pleased with them. If you sign up to their newsletters you used to get extra discounts on some items too. Not sure if they still do this.

diamondsr4u · 14/01/2021 17:22

The 429 from Argos is a slightly different model. Comparing them now to see what the difference is if any

OP posts:
diamondsr4u · 14/01/2021 17:30

So seems like they are both 2020 models.

Exactly the same with the only difference being the 479 has Bluetooth and Ethernet connection, efficiency rating A+

The 429 efficiency rating is A
