Not going shopping much atm, but need to make marmalade.

Has anyone spotted Seville oranges in a supermarket, or are they another Brexit victim?

We have them on the South coast. I’m making marmalade tomorrow.

inquietant · 11/01/2021 20:41

Our greengrocer had them.

SOLINVICTUS · 11/01/2021 20:41

They're only just starting to come in now. Their high season is end January ISH.

viques · 11/01/2021 20:44

Oh thanks for the replies, I had a nasty feeling I had missed the boat, or that we won’t get any at all if those mean ham sandwich stealing Europeans think of it!

Congratulations you win the award for most abstract anti brexit thread ever! 🐒

Got some in Waitrose last week

viques · 11/01/2021 20:57

Actually I am very pro Europe and am bitterly angry that we aren’t part of It anymore. I’m sorry that didn’t come over, I was writing with my tongue in my cheek, but obviously no one can see that.

Waitrose have them, they often reduce them as well. Most years I pick some up for marmalade for a couple of £.

bigbluebus · 11/01/2021 21:01

Our greengrocer advertised on Facebook the other day that he'd got them so I'm guessing they've just started to arrive.

HelloDulling · 11/01/2021 21:02

Bought them in the greengrocer today.

StopGo · 11/01/2021 21:06

I buy mine online from www.parrishfarms.co.uk. I also buy my pickling onions from them.

Greengrocers had them last week. I bought 2.5kg and made 20 jars of marmalade. We are not going to run short this year!

Those orange trees look amazing Loveacockatoo, have you ever been to Granada, it’s pomegranates there!

Hopeisnotastrategy · 12/01/2021 10:14

I have a pomegranate bush in my garden in Spain.

Sighs deeply

samandcj · 12/01/2021 10:21

I've turned 3 kg of oranges into 23 jars!
Should last us a few months. So much better than shop bought.

NameChange84 · 12/01/2021 10:27

Can anyone recommend a foolproof recipe please?
