Some men? I'm another one who hates most men most of the time. I look at little DD and wonder what kind of world have I brought her into where I'm already thinking about what kind of self-defence classes would be best for her to take.

It fucking drives me insane that society accepts this view of women being hormonal in a world in which the overwhelming majority of violent crime is committed by men; and for millennia, agricultural and domestic male animals are routinely castrated because they are unmanageable and/or dangerous when entire.

I don’t advocate castration for men but let’s have a bit more honesty and action around male violence.

I hate the whole picture: porn industry for normalising violent sex and the myth that all of it is liberating and modern for women; the police, courts and CPS in this country for making it very unlikely that a rape or sexual assault claim will reach justice; and misogynistic media like the Mail for making a huge moral furore every time there is a malicious rape claim (not saying this is acceptable) without comment on the volume of actual rapes and attacks that take place, overwhelmingly on women by men.

RIP this inspirational woman.

This is appalling and sad but I have to take issue with all the hatred for "most men" comments. The vast majority of men I know both personally and professionally are not violent and would also find this abhorrent. I don't think it's acceptable to tar nearly 50% of society with one brush and although I know that's also been done to women over the years, that's not acceptable either.

I have just been reading into this and read that Agitu Ideo Gudeta had also experienced racial abuse, threats and people threatening her flock before this. What on earth is wrong with people and this awful far right resurgence, territoriality and misogyny? Why couldn't they just live and let live, or far more radically, be a bit pleased for someone else's success?

There is an unspoken war taking place, of men against women, covered by the merest veneer of ‘equality’. It oozes out though, whether via dating or porn usage or the entitlement of the husbands and fathers we read about on here.

So sorry for derail, but as someone who has never been in a relationship i think i’ve idolized them too much.

Absolute animal. I have two young sons and I have to be honest, I find it overwhelming when I think about I can ensure they grow up to be respectful men. Their dad is an excellent role model but even so, many seem to turn fucking feral regardless.
