Putting the empty wrappers back in the After Eight Mint box

I say it’s wrong and should never happen. DH disagrees and is upset I just made him take them all out of the box and put them in the bin.

AIBU?

It's one of my pet hates too! The kids do it with the box of celebrations as well! Boils my piss 🤣

BestOfABadLot · 27/12/2020 19:23

But isn't part of the joy of having after eights the slight uncertainty as to whether there are actually any chocolate lefts or just empty wrappers? As a child I was convinced if you looked hard enough there would always be one chocolate left.

FoxtrotOscarPoppet · 27/12/2020 19:24

YANBU!!! Anyone does that in this house and they forfeit their right to another chocolate. 😁

BrightYellowDaffodil · 27/12/2020 19:24

Putting the empty wrappers back should be a hanging offence.

GinnieHempstock · 27/12/2020 19:26

This.
Springersrock · 27/12/2020 19:26

YANBU

It does my head in. DH puts empty wrappers back in the Quality Street tin as well Angry

FourEyesGood · 27/12/2020 19:27

Why would anyone sane put the empty wrappers back into the box? That’s pure evil.

LoudBatPerson · 27/12/2020 19:27

It's a LTB offence.

Nothing worse than thinking there are some left only to be faced with empty envelopes of disappointment.

nosswith · 27/12/2020 19:29

This is what Priti Patel wants to bring the death penalty back for!!!!

Hoppinggreen · 27/12/2020 19:29

It’s very very wromg

happymummy12345 · 27/12/2020 19:30

I hate it. No one should ever do this

user1473878824 · 27/12/2020 19:30

After Eights are the ONLY thing that you’re allowed to do this with.

Mseddy · 27/12/2020 19:30

It's roles reversed in our house. DH goes mad at me for putting the wrappers back

vodkaredbullgirl · 27/12/2020 19:32

It annoys the hell out of me.

CreamFirstThenJamOnTop · 27/12/2020 19:33

Well, I don’t so much put them back in as leave the wrapper in the box. We all just lift the actual after eight out, leaving the wrapper where it is.

20mum · 27/12/2020 19:33

Hanging's too good for them.

Workyticket · 27/12/2020 19:34

The thread under yours is 'death penalty'

Seems apt!

Just for once, I'd be in complete agreement with her!
AgentProvocateur · 27/12/2020 19:37

If one happens to go into the fridge and eat an after eight surreptitiously, one must leave the wrapper behind to avoid a tell-tale rustle. Grin

I’d vote for that Grin Wink

I can't abide it.

But I live in a household of people who think it's perfectly fine to put empty cereal boxes back in the cupboard, empty milk back in the fridge, and so forth. Gah.

FAQs · 27/12/2020 19:38

You have to put the wrappers back, that way it’s a lovely surprise if you find an actual chocolate filled wrapper.

DH is horrified

FAQs · 27/12/2020 19:39

It’s only accepted for after eights, none of this celebrations or cereal stuff, different entities entirely.
