That photo with Johnson’s double thumbs up will be front page too. Jingoism overload tomorrow.

OP posts:
Tellmetruth4 · 24/12/2020 15:33

Or maybe ‘Boris Claus delivers Brexit!!’

OP posts:
Belepheron · 24/12/2020 15:34

It makes me want to puke how he will spin this as a victory. When really it's the most desperate deal ever made.

CoRhona · 24/12/2020 15:36

It'll be 'Merry Brexmas!'

And yes, bloody awful photo.

Tellmetruth4 · 24/12/2020 15:36

Or maybe ‘Fishermen’s Friend!!’

OP posts:
GoldenLabbie · 24/12/2020 15:37

The Sun is literally the only paper that still supports him. Who cares what they think?

nosswith · 24/12/2020 15:37

No papers on Christmas Day.

Details so far suggest the UK has just agreed to the EU in all but name. Fishing for another five years or more by EU fishermen/women, no Erasmus programme participation.

Monsieur Macron closing the borders earlier this week probably forced the UK hand.

Tellmetruth4 · 24/12/2020 15:39

Or a picture of Boris with double thumbs up next to a pic of The Queen. Caption says ‘Merry Christmas M’am!’

OP posts:
Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 24/12/2020 15:45

The thumbs up picture makes me cringe Hmm

Work of genius getting it finished for Christmas eve. I give him that. Most people to preoccupied to read through details for a bit.

Probably get the oxford vaccination announcement for new year and spin it all into a momentous victory for the government.

Tellmetruth4 · 24/12/2020 15:46

Or a picture of red wall voters in Tier 2 pub gardens leaping into the air with the caption being ‘Freedom!’

OP posts:
justanotherneighinparadise · 24/12/2020 15:46

I just listened to part of his speech and it sounded like we’ve had to concede an awful lot.

Tellmetruth4 · 24/12/2020 15:48

Or a picture of the white cliffs of Dover with the caption being ‘Under new management’.

For some it wouldn’t matter what he had done it would never be good enough
Quite frankly well done Boris you have had more shit to deal with in this year more probably than any pm since Churchill

CoRhona · 24/12/2020 15:52

@rosie1959 he's an utter liar and until we see the details you really have nothing to be proud of. Our govt say it's a success; the European press are saying we gave in on lots of issues.

Let's see what the document actually says.

Whammyyammy · 24/12/2020 15:53

The people voted, he has tried to deliver and looks like he's got a deal he's happy with. Will see what it brings, whatever it is we're stuck with it. I'm going to get on with my life and not cry about the colour of my passport.
Remainer here too.

rosie1959 · 24/12/2020 15:54

We obviously have different views on Boris

I agree, but this is MN and not reality. You're gonna get roasted for having that opinion.
Hearwego · 24/12/2020 15:55

Is anyone surprised? The old saying was is no deal better than a bad deal? Why would Barnier let us have our way? Why would the EU let us go with a great deal?
Boris realised that he didn’t want to go with a no deal so accepted what’s on the table on the 11th hour. A no deal would have shrunk the pound, atleast in the short term.
Boris will sugarcoat the deal as a victory for Britain.

MarshaBradyo · 24/12/2020 15:56

Agree people will be unhappy as ever

But I’m glad and he sounds better than he has recently. Good on all of them for getting there.

Except he hasn’t actually dealt with anything except getting Laura onside and dressing up a lot.
Hearwego · 24/12/2020 15:59

I’ll add I voted leave but honestly past caring. I’d rather get through covid 19 with as less people dying as possible.
I acknowledge Boris has had an unprecedented time as PM, probably no other PM has has faced such challenges since WW2.
I hope 2021 gets more like back to normal atleast by summer next year.

Good. Maybe people will stop banging on about how we held all the cards etc, when anyone with half a brain would see we were in the worst position you could imagine.
rosie1959 · 24/12/2020 16:00

Whammyyammy you are probably right but I don’t care about that
I also have a loo brush and have voted Tory all my life

The thumbs up picture makes me cringe

As with everything to do with Boris Johnson during his tenure, that picture will come back to haunt him eventually Smile.

Certainly a future meme of 'celebrating a fuck-up' in the making.....
