I try to avoid it but some male dogs are extremely good at the swift squirt scent mark, which is rarely sufficient to leave a puddle.
If my dog did actually leave a puddle on someones gateway/car/front door, I'd dump a bottle of water over it as I would have water on me, not a lot more I can do about it than that though.
I try to ensure mine are using bushes, lampposts etc.
It is more than just dogs doing it though, cats are pissing all over a ton of stuff outside, foxes are, around here deer will piss up stuff and also rub the oily glands on their heads on fenceposts, gates, cars, badgers and foxes will decorate stuff with strategically placed turds...
Basically if it remains stationary overnight, something is going to rub, spray or squirt some revolting bodily secretion upon it.
I really can't get worked up about the odd dog pissing on my car tyre when I have seen muntjac rub their faces on it, foxes piss on it, cats piss on it... I have got better things to do with my energy really!
