I know what you're going through. With my first I had a big bleed at 10 weeks and was convinced I was having a miscarriage. All was fine and she's now 6. Hope all is well for you x

DefrostingBuble · 20/12/2020 22:24

I did and was convinced I was losing the baby. Even the EPU told me that they thought I was having a miscarriage but kept having blood tests and my levels kept increasing. Eventually i was far enough to see baby on the scan! He is now 5! ❤️

Unicorn88 · 20/12/2020 22:25

I think you should call hospital for reassurance.
I've a 10 month old baby and I've bleed for the first
four months of my pregnancy.
I was scared and really tought the pregnancy wouldn't thrive.
First time I bleed I went to A&E please call the maternity hospital the midwife's will be able to guide u regarding what to do.
Keep calm, wishing u the best

HaveeeeYouMetTed · 20/12/2020 22:26

I bled on & off for my whole pregnancy. It didn't get any less concerning each time it happened but I now have a very healthy & lively four year old.

Please call your pregnancy unit / midwife if you're at all concerned. They are there to help & it's always best to put your mind at ease.

WildNorthEast · 20/12/2020 22:27

This happened to me a couple of times, a scary amount of blood, but all Ok. Hope everything's OK for you.

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 20/12/2020 22:28

I think it really depends how far along you are. You need to call your local EPU and get a scan.

Court2169 · 20/12/2020 22:38

Did you ever get clots?? I’m so nervous thst Iv lost them. I have POCO as well so I have low chance I’m getting pregnant xo

Everyone is different and someone else's story on here won't be the same as your situation. Not sure what it is like in your area but most have early pregnancy units where they can assess you. Also depends how many weeks you are.

TaccyToo · 21/12/2020 05:31

I had this in my successful pregnancy OP on and off for quite some time, but I also had it when I was going through miscarriages too unfortunately. I don't say that on purpose to upset you but to be honest that it can mean nothing or it can mean something.

I would contact your EPU.

Hope everything is okay x

xmasfairybuns · 21/12/2020 06:07

Do see the EPAU, I hope it's all ok for you.

ukgift2016 · 21/12/2020 06:11

I had this happen last month and it was an early miscarriage, I took a pregnancy test and it turned negative...however I am now pregnant again a month later, hope this one sticks.

Just to play devil advocate, with my first child I bled and it all turned out ok! My daughter held on and it was fine.

SunniCameHomeWithAVengeance · 21/12/2020 07:12

Have you contacted your EPU? All bleeding in pregnancy needs to be checked.

Housewife2010 · 21/12/2020 07:16

I had it on three occasions during my first pregnancy. It was very scary. Contact your maternity hospital ASAP. I went in each time and had scans. Eventually it was discovered that I had a polyp. They removed the polyp and I had no more bleeding. I went on to have a very easy trouble free pregnancy and birth and my daughter is now 13. Please contact them and good luck.

CatholicKidston · 21/12/2020 07:19

How far along are you OP?

User0ne · 21/12/2020 07:43

I had bleeding in 2 pregnancies, none yet in current one (29w) and a miscarriage. Go and get checked at your epu if you are worried.

Yes it's possible to bleed with clots and the baby survive but that doesn't mean you shouldn't seek medical reassurance if you want it.

Court2169 · 21/12/2020 08:45

I went to the hospital yesterday and they were rubbish! They didn’t do a scan, bloods or test. Even when I asked for all of them. They told me I could be having a miscarriage or I might. It be they wasn’t helpful.I left there more upset then I went in. Yesterday I had small clots and quite a bit of bleeding. But Iv woken up today was not as much bleeding at all and it was more stringy then everything and no clots. They hospital think I’m 3 weeks but again they wasn’t sure. They were so rubbish!

OP posts:
Court2169 · 21/12/2020 08:46

I also have no cramps which is a good sign

OP posts:
CatholicKidston · 21/12/2020 08:47

Ah right. No they wouldn't do tests that early on I'm afraid. Most people wouldn't know they're pregnant at 3 weeks OP so that sounds strange - when was your last period/when did you get a positive test?

Court2169 · 21/12/2020 08:55

I did tests 3 days ago and they were faint positive but they were 100% positives!

OP posts:
ThatchersGapingVag · 21/12/2020 09:01

I'm afraid op there's not really anything they can do at 3 weeks, it's so early. A scan wouldn't be conclusive at this point.

TaccyToo · 21/12/2020 10:40

The only thing I may have expected them to do would be bloods to see if your HCG is rising or falling.

A scan would be pointless at this stage I'm afraid.

WiggleSquiggle · 21/12/2020 10:45

I have had this before, and it sadly ended in a miscarriage though not right away, the bleeding came off and on for a few weeks and cumulated in an A&E trip and a D&C at 13 weeks.
I hope you’re ok OP and you have the support you need. Flowers

Court2169 · 21/12/2020 10:59

Iv wanted a baby for soo long, I just really hope they can survive this. I’m unfortunately underweight as well so that more of a reason why I would miscarry:(

OP posts:
CatholicKidston · 21/12/2020 17:18

Sorry OP Thanks try taking a pregnancy test in a few days and see if it's still positive.

Userme93 · 21/12/2020 17:28

Is that 3 weeks since intercourse/ovulation (which is classed as 5 weeks pregnant) or 3 weeks since last period (so a week before next is due?)

Either way a scan wouldn't show anything for a few more weeks.

I had a lot of bleeding and go explained epu wouldn't see me until 7/8 weeks (date from last period) at the earliest to do a scan as it would at best show an egg sac but heartbeat wouldn't be seen and it would cause worry.

I was told to take tests every few days and it should stay positive/get darker and hopefully not turn negative.

My bleeding lasted until 11 weeks and my DD was healthy despite the bleeding.
