Unfortunately this happened to me at 8 weeks pregnant, I did go on to miscarry.

I hope this isn't the case for you x

I went to the hospital yesterday and they were rubbish! They didn’t do a scan, bloods or test. Even when I asked for all of them. They told me I could be having a miscarriage or I might. It be they wasn’t helpful.I left there more upset then I went in. Yesterday I had small clots and quite a bit of bleeding. But Iv woken up today was not as much bleeding at all and it was more stringy then everything and no clots. They hospital think I’m 3 weeks but again they wasn’t sure. They were so rubbish!

They were not rubbish. None of those things are appropriate, or useful for you.

I had this with my DS (now 2) at 10 and 12 weeks. I've got a history of miscarriages and was absolutely terrified that I'd lost another baby.

I went to hospital to get checked and honestly, if I hadn't sat in the waiting room shaking with tears running down my face, I think they'd have sent me away to wait and see, too. I think I got lucky with a very empathetic doctor.

It's so awful when you don't get any answers, but I'm not sure that anyone can know for sure at 3 weeks. If you were given an ultrasound now, it's unlikely that a heartbeat would be detected and that would also be upsetting.

Really hope everything is OK for you.

Flowers OP

I know how you feel - you want to go to hospital and have everything done but with the best will in the world there isn't anything they could do to stop a miscarriage if that's whats happening. And money's too tight to routinely do things just to be nice.

I had the same at 15 weeks and even then i was only kept in because it was hot and i nearly fainted in the waiting room of A&E. A sympathetic doc decided to quickly scan me at the crack of dawn in the morning before i was chucked out and i was lucky baby was ok. I think the official plan was to just discharge me and what will be will be though. This was 7 years ago.

If you’re only three weeks pregnant then the hospital were not at all rubbish, they were acting exactly as appropriate. Having an invasive internal scan which won’t show anything is a waste of your and their time, and is a distressing thing to go through for no gain.

There is also nothing they can do at this stage to stop a miscarriage, unfortunately.

At this stage there is no baby, just a cluster of cells which haven’t even implanted yet - hopefully the bleeding is implantation bleeding and you’ll need to take another test in a week or so to see if you are still pregnant.

That’s made me feel better knowing the hospital did everything they could. I’m very new to all this so I didn’t know thank you for clearing that up for me. I’m 20, and hopefully having my first beautiful child. Iv stopped bleeding now, only bleed for a whole day with no cramps and not too much blood but enough to be worried. I really hope my baby survives this!!! Thank you so so much everyone for your replies. Your a lovely support system❤️
