Panicking - Asda order

GoHornets · 19/12/2020 22:24

I have my Christmas Asda order booked to be delivered tomorrow. Usually you can edit it up until midnight the day before delivery. I’ve just gone into the ASDA app to try and amend and it says ‘order placed’ and won’t let me edit??? I’ve been trying to get through to customer services with no luck, has anyone dealt with this before?

I don’t do Asda but my online Christmas shop usually has to be finished a couple of days in advance, I assume because they are so busy, so I doubt you can edit at this point.

Alternista · 19/12/2020 22:26

Um. Mine (also Asda) is always up to 10pm the night before...

CornishTiger · 19/12/2020 22:27

It’s 10pm cut off.

CornishTiger · 19/12/2020 22:27

And they didn’t have my turkey!

ZiggysPFrow · 19/12/2020 22:28

10pm for me today

ToastandJamandTea · 19/12/2020 22:29

Sorry but it was 10pm Sad

triceratops12 · 19/12/2020 22:30

10pm for me

missmouse101 · 19/12/2020 22:30

It's been a 10pm cut off for months.

UndertheCedartree · 19/12/2020 22:31

I got an Asda delivery as only supermarket I could get a slot at. They didn't have turkey or ham or lots of other things!! Was it a suprise it was Christmas and people might want to order Christmas stuff? Now need to do a shop!

GoHornets · 19/12/2020 22:37

Noooooooooooooo Shock

GoHornets · 19/12/2020 22:38

Damn it, I’ll have to brave the supermarket tomorrow.

Thank you to everyone who replied

Oh dear, you didn’t order two expensive bottles of champagne to reserve the slot did you?

GoHornets · 19/12/2020 22:39

My mistake, I haven’t used Asda in ages as Tesco seem to have better delivery slot availability in my area but I wasn’t quick enough to get a Tesco Xmas slot.

Mines also 10pm

Will you be feasting this year on 3 bottles of cava and a bottle of Stolly?

OkOkWhatsNext · 19/12/2020 22:39

They changed it to 10pm at some point during the pandemic. There are lots of messages letting you know when you place the order. I put my order in a while back, but see that they no longer have items I ordered - parsnips and bread sauce...! I’m sure there will be more when it actually comes and I’ll need to head out to an actual shop too. Asda are rubbish for substitutions but seem to be the only supermarket we can get a delivery slot from at the mo.

FelicityBeedle · 19/12/2020 22:40

Was it just last minute additions? Or did you have the obligatory two bottles of fizz to hold the spot?

GoHornets · 19/12/2020 22:40

I wish!! I ordered loads of cleaning supplies and hardly any food

OP posts:
AndcalloffChristmas · 19/12/2020 22:42

You do have to keep an eye on last editing times at this time of year. Sorry OP.

Nice clean house and a Chinese takeaway then for you?

I popped to Iceland for the first time ever a couple of nights ago and I was the only customer and managed to get loads of Christmas food, we are veggies though but they had loads of turkey etc.

MaverickDanger · 19/12/2020 22:55

I’ve got one coming on 23rd and with the news today, I’m now worried that there’s going to be hardly anything as the shops will be decimated with people having to change plans.

TommyKnocker · 19/12/2020 23:01

Asda cancelled my shop! Had one booked for the 21st but I got an email on Thursday saying they no longer had the availability. To add insult to injury they sent 2 further emails detailing their amazing xmas food/offers and another email reminding me my order had to be finalised by 10pm.

lillylemons · 19/12/2020 23:02

I'm worried our xmas shopping won't arrive we have it booked for 23rd, worrying that people will empty the shops before then.

Think we will have to pop to the supermarket.

Birdladybird · 19/12/2020 23:03

I had a delivery yesterday and £120 worth of shopping was out of stock. Not even substituted!

TheWristBoundLatexBitch · 19/12/2020 23:04

Tesco are still realising slots daily as well

I know everyone is really snobby about Iceland, but they have been great this year. Always lots of delivery slots available, never any issues with missing items and the food is the same brands I buy from Asda but cheaper.

It's not M&S, but what's the point in having an extra special fancy turkey that never arrives?!
