So giddy . Had a long slog up to it, so now sat with a huge glass of wine, Christmas lights on and demolishing Lindt chocolate.

Start my Xmas shopping tomorrow , with no pressure . In Tier 3 but isn’t everybody , but still will make the most of it.
Anybody else with me?

Yes, I'm here too. Finished on Monday. The past few weeks ahve been carzy busy with work, it's a relief to stop. OH is now off too for 3 weeks.
Also tier 3, been that way for 11 weeks now. Used to it.
I have done almost all my christmas shopping online.

nosswith · 17/12/2020 19:04

No, think of those such as in the NHS who are needed, or those who will be working such as in retail on Boxing Day because we don't have the sense to have proper holidays by law.

YellowandGreenToBeSeen · 17/12/2020 19:06

Nope. Not got a fat off till Christmas Day and working till 5pm Christmas Eve 😩

YellowandGreenToBeSeen · 17/12/2020 19:06

*day off

MrsGrindah · 17/12/2020 19:06

@nosswith With the greatest of respect you have no idea what my job is or what I’ve been involved in so let’s not play “ Who has it worse” eh?

Working up to & including Christmas Eve but after that I’m not in until the week beginning Jan 4th, probably Tues 5th.

pilates · 17/12/2020 19:08

Me too, cheers 🥂

SecretSpAD · 17/12/2020 19:11

Whatever your job is @MrsGrindah and however worthy or unworthy it is judged on here.....it's 2020 and as Tesco says "no one is on the naughty list" so have a brilliant day tomorrow and a brilliant Christmas.

MrsGrindah · 17/12/2020 19:16

Thanks @SecretSpAD!

Enjoy!

I'm a SAHM but I can't wait until they finish tomorrow. I feel like I'm constantly waiting for the 'can you come & get them, they have symptoms/ their bubble needs to isolate' (thankfully not happened) phone call or waiting for them to come down with some bug that happens to have a temp & cough (has happened twice, - tests both times). It will be nice to be able to relax for a fortnight! (We're not going anywhere or meeting anyone so if school do happen to call in the first week saying we need to isolate it won't really change anything)

Gin Wine

InkieNecro · 17/12/2020 19:19

I've been signed off work with stress, so I guess I'm also finished?

I've finished shopping, all the important stuff has arrived bar one item arriving tomorrow, so I don't care if anything else is late. Going food shopping on the weekend and have planned activities for the next week when the children finish nursery.

Will be my first adult Christmas without my ex (souce of my signed off work stress) after 18 years of him wrecking it, so I'm really looking forward to it!

MrsGrindah · 17/12/2020 19:21

@InkieNecro Sorry to hear that but sounds like you need a well deserved break.Enjoy your Christmas.

Tomorrow until 5th Jan and I can not wait!! Had the week from hell, I'm mentally and emotionally exhausted.

Marmite27 · 17/12/2020 19:24

5 hours tomorrow for me and I’m done. I should have had 6 hours leave this week but it was cancelled because I had a massive project dumped on me at short notice.

Pissoff2020 · 17/12/2020 19:24

I finish work tomorrow! Can’t wait for a break, I’ve still got some shopping to do as well so going to make a start tomorrow evening. It’s been such an odd year but I’m hoping Christmas will be nice and still feel like Christmas despite all the restrictions Smile
Enjoy your wine!

Chanteuse · 17/12/2020 19:27

Meeee! Back on the 4th. Have a lovely break Smile

houseinthesnow · 17/12/2020 19:29

I have a large gin and tonic and just back after walking (froze to death) around a christmas market with just three stalls! Grin One at least had mulled wine, this is the closest we will get to christmas cheer!

Decided to enjoy every moment, and not worry too much about what we are missing this year, and focus more on what we have. That seems the way to go. Grateful none of us are ill, and we have a vaccine and an end in sight Wine to you op! Enjoy!

MrsGrindah · 17/12/2020 19:38

Indeed! We have to have these small celebrations . Here’s to you all! Wine

Yay, enjoy! My last day is Tuesday and then I'll be joining you! I certainly don't begrudge anyone feeling relieved to be finished! The last month has been hectic - definitely counting down the days.

RavingAnnie · 17/12/2020 19:40

Can I tell you to piss off (nicely) please? No I am not finished. I have ADHD and really struggling to focus on anything this year. Keep getting distracted and have no idea what I have left to do. All over the bloody place. Can usually pull this suit out of the bag at the last minute but it's just not happening 😢

InkieNecro · 17/12/2020 19:40

I will, I have a new partner who gets on great with my family and my mum will entertain the children while we cook Grin

Chailatte20 · 17/12/2020 19:45

Finished now until the 5th of January. I'm absolutely exhausted, I can't wait to sleep in.

Got a few walks planned around some NT parks & estates round ours. Going out to collect some greenery from the local woods.

Organising a zoom treasure hunt with my nieces & nephews, my sister is organising this. I've no idea how to organise a treasure hunt online.

Generally pottering round the house, watching films, baking & chilling out. We're not socialising with anybody this Christmas.

MrsGrindah · 17/12/2020 19:46

@RavingAnnie Of course you can. I’m sorry it’s not going well for you and I really hope things get better quickly. I do know what if feels like to be overwhelmed.Hope you have a lovely Christmas when it comes.
