To ask where the cheese footballs have gone???

They're both disgusting and delicious in equal measure. However, I'm addicted and look forward to these golden tubs every Christmas!

BUT...Why can't I seem to find them in any supermarket this year?! I managed to order 4 boxes from Sainsburys online at the start of the month, but they're now sold out everywhere.

Would anyone like to join me in an ode to the cheese football, in hope that KP pick this up and make more next year?

Wahh i"ve been looking too. Yes they are a 'dirty snack'. My not even guilty pleasure . Where are they??

Cheesefootballfan · 16/12/2020 13:22

I'm on rations. I can easily go through a tub in a couple of days.

Bastardly addictive things.

Aldi have them!! In bags the size of pillows!

Puzzledandpissedoff · 16/12/2020 13:25

They had them in Iceland when I went in this morning
Failing that, if you're really stuck, they're on Amazon (but apparently not in stock until 21 December)

Tangledtresses · 16/12/2020 13:25

There are loads in our local Tesco!!

raspberryk · 16/12/2020 13:25

I got some in November from B&M but they didn’t taste the same, I wondered if they changed the recipe. I’ve not see any since :/

GrandTheftWalrus · 16/12/2020 13:26

My dh asked the same thing. He loves them and can't find them anywhere here.

Cheesefootballfan · 16/12/2020 13:26

Ah, I can check Iceland as we have one here.

Amazon... The price! £8.50 for a single tub! Even I (the biggest CF fan) can't justify that.

Is it Aldi's own brand @toomanyplants?

Oh God I love these!! I can easily polish off a tub in ten minutes! Luckily DH & DS hate them!

Cheesefootballfan · 16/12/2020 13:27

I've checked every big supermarket we have here (East Kent).

Tesco, Sainsburys, Asda, Morrisons, Waitrose, M&S. None!

B&M and Poundland are my go to places for cheese footballs, my local supermarkets all seemed to stop doing them a couple of years back Angry

FrangipaniBlue · 16/12/2020 13:30

I'm now wondering if I have time to drive to my local B&M to buy a tub and be home in time for my 2pm meeting.........

Inextremis · 16/12/2020 13:30

They are currently winging their way over the Irish Sea to me! Well, 2 tubs of them are (btw, I hear the tubs are smaller this year?), thanks to some UK based friends. It's just not Christmas without them - why they're so hard to get hold of, I don't know!

kursaalflyer · 16/12/2020 13:37

I ate a whole tub without stopping last year and felt so sick I said never again. I'm into Tesco cheese balls now which have been my 2020 snack of the year.

Whatafustercluck · 16/12/2020 13:44

Do you mean the fluffy/ crunchy ones (same texture as salt and vinegar chipsticks) or the ones filled with that cheesy filling (same as the middle of a Tucks cheese sandwich biscuit)? We have loads of the former in our Tesco. But I woke up salivatinf having dreamed of the latter the other night, thinking "I've not seen any this year!"

toomanyplants · 16/12/2020 13:45

@Cheesefootballfan yes Aldi's own brand, verrry moreish.
I was disgusted with myself for eating so many, but sat in a cheese crumb covered jumper like Homer Simpson shovelling more and more in.
Lovely ☺️

Cheesefootballfan · 16/12/2020 14:17

@whatafusterclack The latter - the wafery kind with the soft cheesy centre! 0% actual cheese of course.

Ooooh so the go-to place is B and M? I must trundle down there armed with a few carrier bags Grin

@Inextremis Hope the get to you in time for Christmas!

@frangipaniblue Do it.

@toomanyplants Sounds ideal. It's my birthday today, so I've allowed myself to crack open a tub. Embarrassed to say that I've eaten half already Blush

OP posts:
kursaalflyer · 16/12/2020 14:41

I could actually just eat the inside. The wafery outer layer is dry and pointless.

SlopesOff · 16/12/2020 14:47

I used to love those, and the sticks with the same filling and same covering.

A few years ago I noticed they had changed, haven't bothered since and usually see them when I am shopping but none this year.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 16/12/2020 15:16

Amazon... The price! £8.50 for a single tub!

Tell me about it Hmm

However I'm wondering if the missing KP ones are a supply issue, and at least it means they're available for TRUE addicts!!

WhyHelloJiiilll · 16/12/2020 15:26

They are blooming vile in my opinion! But my dad loves them and hasn't been able to find any for a couple of years so I bought him 8 tubs of the disgusting little things. Tesco was where I found them.

kursaalflyer · 16/12/2020 15:26

I just saw that a single tub from Amazon was £9.98! And from a company called Healthy Living for You. Slightly ironic!

Anjo2011 · 16/12/2020 15:29

Iceland Is Your friend for this one.

Popcornismandatory · 16/12/2020 15:30

Happy Birthday 🎂 @Cheesefootballfan
