hello,

what has been your experience when you have "missed" a delivery with hermes?

they apparently tried to deliver yesterday afternoon but I wasnt in (i was) and I didnt hear any knock on the door/saw noone. they said in an email they would try again the next day but nothing so far. I'm almost scared to ask but if you have missed a delivery with them when did you finally get your parcel?

it is over 200 pound the parcel they have and after reading some reviews I am really worried.

thanks!

Ah ha Hermes ! What they do and why they do it is a mystery on a par with the pyramids. You may get your parcel in the end, maybe.

They have excelled themselves today with me by not even delivering a parcel to me and returning it to sender, according to their tracking. They are spectacularly shite.

Buzlightyear1 · 09/12/2020 16:25

I’m sorry but Hermes are rubbish. My next door neighbours had the same they said they came . It just so happened I was outside my house at the same time they are saying they came . They didn’t come at all. Nowhere near there house. The whole neighbour are complaining about them nothing but trouble in my experience. They constantly deliver to wrong address or not at all. I would get on the phone and try sort it out. Good luck. So sorry ☹️

Santaisironingwrappingpaper · 09/12/2020 16:27

Just received word my eBay parcel has been lost by My Hermes...

Castiel07 · 09/12/2020 16:27

My Hermes guy is lovely tbh, never had any problems and is always helpful.
It really does depend on the person you get delivering.

PaxMalmKallax · 09/12/2020 16:29

They are shocking! A couple of years ago I ordered a garden ornament as a gift. As he handed it over the Hermes man laughed and said “is it meant to be in pieces” as he shook it and I could hear the sound of a broken ornament... he then refused to take it back, said “it’s not my fault, I’m not going back to the depot” and drove off!!!

NoSensei · 09/12/2020 16:29

I’ve been sending and receiving with Hermes for years with little issue, so I think it largely depends on the driver that you get.

The one issue I did have was I sent a parcel and 3 weeks later it hadn’t arrived, it had been lost in a sorting office, and once they found it they sent it straight back to me in a couple of days.

Fingers crossed you parcel arrives safely, don’t give up hope yet!

cherrybunx0 · 09/12/2020 16:29

urgh how annoying!

havent had anything today yet so not holding my breath...I dont understand why the need to lie though about attempting to deliver when they havent Confused would prefer them to be honest and say its been delayed or something! then wouldnt waste days on end sitting inside!

I have a lot of deliveries made by Hermes and have had no issues 99% of the time, I think it very much depends on your specific courier.

If a parcel went missing, I would take it up with the seller not Hermes (or any other courier) as I only have an agreement with the seller and who they choose to use for delivery is nothing to do with me.

cherrybunx0 · 09/12/2020 16:33

the tracking is saying it's at the local depot..so not with a courier, can safely assume they will not be attempting to delieve today then!

who even knows where my parcel is going to end up and when lol!

My Hermes lady is lovely - always smiling -cannot say the same for the DPD driver - he is rude

PiccalilliChilli · 09/12/2020 16:34

It's improved slightly with me. I know the drivers are self-employed and get paid by the item not the hour, and out of that they have to pay all their expenses so you don't always the most motivated of people. But my local driver is really good, and I recently sent three packages with him and he turned up on the right day etc.

Tomnooktoldmeto · 09/12/2020 16:37

I’m going to be brave and say my Hermes delivery driver is fantastic! Honestly he really is every time they ask for a review I give 5 stars and that doesn’t happen easily with me

Lovely chap helpful chatty and goes the extra mile, but his predecessor was useless and I complained about him

In the end as with most of the delivery drivers I have I find if you get to know them, are friendly and supportive you’ll get a better service

The other day he did 260 drops for less than 20p a delivery in crap weather to lots of rude people sadly, I couldn’t do that and keep a smile on my face like he does

BigMamaFratelli · 09/12/2020 16:38

Hermes lost one of my parcels. Apparently they carried out a thorough search of the depot etc but couldn't find it. It turned up a month after I'd received my refund from the company I ordered from, 3 months after I'd originally ordered it. God knows what had happened with it

Snackasaurus · 09/12/2020 16:39

Depends on the driver. My usual delivery driver is lovely and is happy to wait; I'm usually frantically searching for my keys 😂 and always asks how we are Smile

cherrybunx0 · 09/12/2020 16:39

I would be more understanding had they not blatantly lied and said they had attempted to deliver when they hadnt. then to say they would try again today but to not. it's just really poor and means I have now spent 2 days sat in. it also concerns me because I'm just say here thinking where on earth is my 200 quid parcel!?

Twofurrycatsagain · 09/12/2020 16:41

I've sent a lot of stuff out with hermes. 99%+ with no problems. They are supposed to try to deliver 3 times. It's a pain when they do lose something but that's up to the seller to sort out.

Simplyunacceptable · 09/12/2020 16:42

It really does depend on the person you get delivering.

This is true. My local Hermes courier is lovely and I’ve never had a parcel go missing.

InTheNightWeWillWish · 09/12/2020 16:42

Hermes are very hit and miss. Our current Hermes delivery driver is actually great, really pleasant, actually turns up when Hermes says she will and if we aren’t in she actually leaves a useful description and decent photo to let us know where to look. When we had a damaged parcel (not by her) she delivered it by itself so it didn’t receive further damage. Which considering their petrol/diesel isn’t covered by Hermes is really great in my opinion.

However, the one before her did a lot of ‘attempted delivery but nobody in’, even when we were in and had waited in for the delivery. A number of times we had to ring her and we could pick the parcel up from hers or wait until whenever she was out next ‘but we’d have to be in that time’ Hmm. My cynical view is that she would maximise picking up at her house so she could maximise her earnings from them.

Southernc0mfortmirror · 09/12/2020 16:44

My usual driver’s great but I’ve had so many issues with a particular parcel. Apparently they attempted delivery on 28/11 but had difficulty accessing the property - no indication what the issue was or how to find out, other than using their customer service bot ‘Holly’ who can’t tell you anything.

I spammed the ceo email addresses until someone got back to me on Saturday to say they’d look into it and update within 48 hours. No update. In the meantime the retailer has refunded me. I’d rather have had the delivery as it contained special editions that have now sold out.

This morning, 11 days after the first ‘attempt’ I get an email and a text message saying it’s been delivered to a secure location at my address. No sign of it. On speaking to a neighbour, it appears they’ve scanned my parcel as his (he got a delivery but no delivery notification) - so where’s my parcel now!

wolfmom · 09/12/2020 16:46

I'm convinced our hermes lot just knock on one in the street and dump everyone's there.

ProbablyLate · 09/12/2020 16:47

Have you checked in your bin? That's a classic Hermes "safe place." As though a location that gats emptied fortnightly to be incinerated is safe....

cherrybunx0 · 09/12/2020 16:48

yep, not in the bin! it's at the local depot apparently...

HallFloor · 09/12/2020 16:48

I've been trying to return a parcel to Next for 2 weeks. Apparently Hermes have been 3 times and each time I've told them the collection is no longer required.

Next have refunded and told me to keep the top lovely I have a free top I don't like

Waveysnail · 09/12/2020 16:48

Hermes guy where I am is lovely. Always same guy in the same van. He is punctual, redelivers just fine

bluebluezoo · 09/12/2020 16:52

This. I hated hermes with a passion. Could guarantee I’d never get any parcel, and as my house has a name rather than a number, on many occasions it never left the depot as they just returned with “no number, incorrect address”.

But.. a few weeks ago we got a new delivery guy. Every parcel has turned up, on time, with no issues, and a cheery have a good day.

It’s a bloody Christmas miracle!

Anyone know if you can leave feedback for drivers?
