To have said no to h? Lockdown related

MrsPear · 15/11/2020 14:25

Hi
So h just informed me he has invited his family for lunch. I said no we are suppose to be in lockdown. We are in England. He has cancelled. Gone in a sulk. So am I wrong? He says I’ve misunderstood everything. Everything apparently is still open. I’ve only been to the end of the high street where the supermarket is so I don’t know. Is everyone having in home social events? Have I completely misunderstood ?

You are right. No socialising with other households.

sapnupuas · 15/11/2020 14:28

Your husband has "misunderstood".

tigger001 · 15/11/2020 14:28

You are right. Dont allow him to make you feel like you are wrong.

Marmozet · 15/11/2020 14:30

Has he been living in a cupboard!?

tigger001 · 15/11/2020 14:30

Your husband is also right, sadly everywhere IS still open, but do let that sidetrack you from whats right to keep as safe as you can.

LagunaBubbles · 15/11/2020 14:31

Does he normally make you feel as if you are in the wrong?

CupoTeap · 15/11/2020 14:31

If you were wrong he wouldn't have cancelled he would have proved he was right

Thermo · 15/11/2020 14:33

Oh mines is in a sulk because I discovered he went to his mums yesterday and sat in her living room for a while while I was at work. He also travelled there, which isn’t allowed at our level.

YANBU op, and it’s this stupid attitude that people have that prolong the lockdowns, increase the numbers, and people are losing jobs and businesses.

myhobbyisouting · 15/11/2020 14:34

"Your husband is also right, sadly everywhere IS still open"

No it isn't Confused

Hayeahnobut · 15/11/2020 14:37

You'd be surprised the amount of people that don't know we're in lockdown. Unless you're looking to go 'out out', then everything is open.

MrsPear · 15/11/2020 14:38

I read through the rules with h and he just laughed and said I’m the only idiot who is obeying them now. Well he has gone out - probably to his sisters. At least I’ve had some confirm I’m not the only idiot. 😂

OP posts:
myhobbyisouting · 15/11/2020 14:41

I couldn't be doing with that at all and wouldn't let him back in until lockdown is over.

He needs to go to his sisters that badly, and thinks you're the idiot, then he can stay there.

MoonElk · 15/11/2020 14:50

I would have just had them round tbh.

FippertyGibbett · 15/11/2020 14:51

You are right.

doctorhamster · 15/11/2020 14:52

It's your husband who has misunderstood. Or he knows full well and just doesn't care.

BessMarvin · 15/11/2020 14:53

Everything isn't still open. However more stuff is open than lockdown 1.

And you're not being unreasonable.

Ghostlyglow · 15/11/2020 14:53

It's true that lots of people aren't obeying the rules, however you are right.

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 15/11/2020 14:55

@myhobbyisouting

I couldn't be doing with that at all and wouldn't let him back in until lockdown is over.

emergency locksmiths are still open in lockdown Grin
WorraLiberty · 15/11/2020 14:56

I was going to say your DH is being ridiculous until I read this part of your OP.... Is everyone having in home social events? Have I completely misunderstood?

Then I concluded you're both being ridiculous.

The Government rules are all over the internet to read.

ilovesooty · 15/11/2020 15:04

If he's gone to his sister's tell him he can self isolate when he gets back. It doesn't sound as though his company would be much of a loss.

AntiHop · 15/11/2020 15:10

I despair at your husband and his family's attitude. I am sticking to the rules and so are my close family and friends.

LoveMyKidsAndCats · 15/11/2020 15:51

Hes making things up OP. I've not seen my family in forever. Would be nice if we could all pop in for lunch wouldn't it. Why is he treating you like you are thick?

Spanielmadness · 15/11/2020 16:53

I’m at the in-laws having Sunday lunch at the moment (lull between courses).

doodleygirl · 15/11/2020 17:20

@spanielmadness - if you are in England then you are a dick

Torvean32 · 15/11/2020 17:31

Tell your husband he's lucky he doesn't live in Scotland, we've not been allowed for months.
