Pooh is the bear- Winnie the Pooh.

Poo is shit.

OP posts:
Silverstripe · 11/11/2020 20:33

In Scotland it’s ‘jobby’ Smile

Meepmeeep · 11/11/2020 20:34

@Goldencurtain

I have never seen anyone do this.
You will now you’ve said that 🤣🤣
SiSeniora · 11/11/2020 20:35

Poopee.

StoneofDestiny · 11/11/2020 20:35

Pooh is the bear
Jobbies are faeces

bluebluezoo · 11/11/2020 20:35

Jobby I like :).

Poop drives me insane though. Just say poo! It doesn’t make it any more palatable(!) adding a p on the end. Or an H for that matter.

GroundAlmonds · 11/11/2020 20:36

Agreed.

See also “tele” instead of telly.

mrwalkensir · 11/11/2020 20:36

thought AA Milne explained somewhere that whilst Pooh is er Poo, Crhistopher Robin as a small child explained that it was actually "Winnie ther Pooh" so very different. So pooh is poo

Meepmeeep · 11/11/2020 20:36

100%. Pooh bear is not a shit. It makes me cringe and it seems to be getting more and more common.

purplecorkheart · 11/11/2020 20:37

100% agree OP!

SiSeniora · 11/11/2020 20:39

Tele is right.

DeciduousPerennial · 11/11/2020 20:40

This is reminding me of my friend’s gran who used to refer to ‘windy-bindies’ instead of burps. My friend was winding her baby when her gran was visiting and the baby obliged. Her gran told her off for saying ‘burp’ instead of ‘up-top windy-bindy’.

My friend was utterly askance (and in her 30s so well past the point of being told off).

GroundAlmonds · 11/11/2020 20:42

@SiSeniora

Tele is right.
It’s the etymological root but it’s an incredibly prissy and pretentious contraction. Telly is the standard spelling.
fairydustandpixies · 11/11/2020 20:43

POO!! 💩

BakewellGin1 · 11/11/2020 20:43

Definately Poo not Pooh (a bear) or poop Grin with you 100%

CountFosco · 11/11/2020 20:43

@Silverstripe

In Scotland it’s ‘jobby’ Smile
I want to put a pink 'JOBBY' sign above our dowstairs loo but DH won't let me. Spoilsport.
MadameMinimes · 11/11/2020 20:44

Telly is correct.
Tele is incorrect.
Tele’ is technically correct but makes you sound like a bit of a prat.

LabiaMinoraPissusFlapus · 11/11/2020 20:44

Poop is awful! Worse than pooh, although that also is bad!

LunaNorth · 11/11/2020 20:45

My late mum once came home from the shops frothing because she’d overheard someone referring to ‘Winnie the Shit’.

Scotsmaw · 11/11/2020 20:45

Shite!

MadameMinimes · 11/11/2020 20:45

And OP is most definitely correct. Pooh is a bear. Turds are poo.

GroundAlmonds · 11/11/2020 20:45

This reminds me of someone I used to work with who when their children were small used the term "bottom burp" instead of trump. It just sounds worse than trump, it makes me feel ill
SlopesOff · 11/11/2020 20:51

Poor little bear doesn't look like a turd.
